Total Joint Industry Detailed non-linear motions, structural and seabed investigations into the
Arco British Project impact forces arising during touch down for a wide variety of soil types
and leg elevations. Specific technical input received from Marathon Le
Tourneau and Friede & Goldman on 116-C and L780 MOD V rigs used in
the studies. End product was on-board software to determine risk of struc-
tural damage.
Rowan Rowan Gorilla V Marine advisor for the Mississippi River transit from fabrication yard to
fitting out yard and dry transportation from Texas to Rotterdam. Work
included development of marine procedures and liaison with USCG.
Statoil Fields 9/2 and Site specific assessments including fatigue analysis of rigs West Omikrom
15/2 and Maersk Endeavour for production. Foundation fixity effects were ex-
amined in detail and a foundation frame was also sized and costed.
BP Early Production Study of the use of jack-up rigs as early production systems. Identification
Systems of generic types and individual rigs. The areas of study were environ-
mental loading, structural adequacy, available deck space and services.
Hamilton Oil Liverpool Bay Production of Statutory Operations Manual for certification after conver-
Company sion of unit to an accommodation and services platform in the Douglas
field. Structural and stability analyses performed to support guidance in
manual.
Solicitor Key Biscayne Retained as independent technical consultants following damage to this
unit while under tow. Areas of particular interest were the analysis of al-
lowable leg length under tow, the structural integrity of jack houses and
the finite element analysis of leg guides, jack house and associated support
structures under severe environmental load.

analysis of soil conditions and environment, structural
analysis of mat, legs, jack house and support structures.

Solicitor AV1 Technical consultants to parties engaged in the arbitration


relating to AV1. Work included in depth analysis of the
soil conditions, environmental conditions, and structural
adequacy of the jack- up, both as designed and as
constructed, in order to identify the reason for the failure of
the jacking and support system of this new-built vessel.
British Gas Slant Drilling Rigs Consultants to British Gas Insurance Department on
various aspects of these rigs.
