Self Defense
 A complex behavior, which intends to protect and defend themselves, as well as the others.
 Primary Motive – To ensure safety.

Importance of Self Defense


1. To keep yourself safe and protected all the time
2. Boost your self-confidence
3. To improve your physical and mental strength

WAYS OF ATTACK BY CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND ADULTS


 Usually divided into two:
 By Children and Adults
o Attacks committed by children or adolescents.
o These are specific by young offender and also by motive itself.
 By an Adult

1) Theft
 The aim of robbing is material profit.
 Mostly, it will be the theft of money.

2) Bullying
 A serious aggressive disorder of behavior occurring in the social environment from early childhood to old
age.

3) Sexual Motive
 Sexual motive can be found in adults as well as adolescents.
 Pedophilia
 If the attacker is an adult and child is the victim, it is mostly a mental disorder of sexual preference called
pedophilia.
 Occurs usually as rape.

4) Kidnapping
 Kidnapping is mainly for two reasons.
1. To obtain a ransom.
o Which is more concerned with the wealthier families or celebrities.
2. The sexual motive.
o Where kidnapping is just a mean to be with the child or adolescent alone without the risk of
getting caught.

5) Domestic Violence
 Also known as Domestic Abuse or Family Violence
 Repetitive, long-term, and usually escalating violence of physical, psychological, social, and economic problems
 Which creates an asymmetrical relationship and leads to a stable distribution between two roles:
o Violent Person
o Person at Risk
 Usually a violence in marriage.
 It is often used as a synonym for “Intimate Partner Violence”
 3 Common Reasons of Domestic Violence
1. Drug-Related
2. Alcohol or Intoxication
3. Financial Reasons or Problems
