Design a casing program for drilling a vertical development well. The regional pore pressure and
fracture gradients are given in table 1.
1. Determine casing setting depths for different casings using the given fracture/ pore
pressure profile (suggestion: set the conductor pipe a depth of 350ft; set the production
casing at 15000 ft)
2. List the mud weight used to drill each hole section.
3. Select hole (bit) and casing sizes for each section of the well. Use a 7in OD production
casing.
4. Determine the cementing volume for each casing section of the drilled well, and the total
volume cement needed.
