the content of the video of ”5 things I wish I knew before starting midwifery”

So the five things that I got from the video are

1. It is difficult to calculate
You have to count and confirm in a matter of minutes. the parent will ask you questions or
the baby will do something really cute and then you lose count, or let's say they have older
siblings and their older siblings ask you questions. just have all this noise around you.
sometimes gets a woman's pulse - she talks to you because it's obvious you don't have a
stethoscope so there's nothing to limit the two of you where they're like 'okay don't talk to
them' so they start talking to you and you're just like ' I'm just trying to count your pulse! Stop
talking to me! "Or you're trying to count the breaths - you can't say 'please stop talking
because I need to count the breaths' like you can't because then they become self-conscious
about their breathing and you might not count the exact number.
2. I wish I had known how emotionally draining it was
Midwifery work can be very emotionally draining at times, like I knew I would be physically
exhausted because I was going to do a 12 hour shift and we didn't really know that with some
of the women you take care of it can tire you out. You just give and give and give them
everything or at least most of what you have to give. You give them your love, you give them
emotional support, you encourage them, you do all these positive things for them and in the
end it can be very emotionally draining at times. But it is so beautiful and amazing and I love
the day- that day because I feel like the days where I feel emotionally spent mean I have
given that person all my love and support and that means that person has extra love that day
and I love the fact that I can do that. But yes but I wish I had been warned in advance about
that. So, you guys, it can be very emotionally draining at times!
3. Be prepared to have a different mentor on the placement
So sometimes you might be assigned to have one mentor, but life is unpredictable. They
might get sick so you have to work with other people or they might have switched their shifts
and they might swap after whoever made your rotations made your round of placement, so
there might just be miscommunication and you miss each other and things like that. So be
prepared to have a different mentor. And then this type leads to thing number four which is ...
4. Be prepared to be told that you did something wrong
many times you are taught one thing by one person and then someone tells you something
else, and sometimes they don't even
You have to do that, because if you have entered a vein or artery or whatever the blood will
automatically go up to the needle like that only a different pressure and volume of pressure
like that will automatically do it. But yes it does like certain things, so especially if you have
a different mentor or you work with different people because your mentor is not around, you
may have learned one way with your mentor but other people will work differently and you
just had to adapt. another way and then do it that way to calm that person down and then in
your brain learn which way you prefer and use that way I save it for your repertoire when you
qualify. But whatever you feel more confident about, do it this way and make sure you have a
reason for it, make sure there is evidence to back you up why you are doing something like
that or make sure you say this is just a Personal Choice.
5. There is a loss of freedom
There was no opportunity to go on vacation and because there was no time and did not have
enough money for a vacation. You have to be thrifty. If it's not saving a lot of money to pay
for that extra surplus because of higher demand, and if you've already started college, the
next time you've got a student loan budget in the budget for summer vacation because you
need to. wind and detox.

so that's what I can conclude, thank you very much
