PART 1 GENERAL
1.04 REFERENCES
A. The following codes and standards are intended to provide an acceptable level of
quality for materials and products. In case of conflict between these standards and
the text of this Specification, the Specification text shall govern.
B. The latest revision of the following codes and standards shall be used wherever
applicable. In case of conflict, the Contractor shall propose equipment conforming to
one group of codes and standards.
1.05 DEFINITIONS
G. handhole: A small jointing chamber, of the joint box category, but limited to footway
use only.
H. hook: A preformed asymptotic U-shaped support for a cable keyed to fit an under
ground cable rack.
I. hook-switch: Plunger or switch where a telephone handset sits when the telephone
is on hook or hung up. When handset is lifted, the switch hook goes up and the
telephone is off hook.
J. joint box: Small surface level jointing chambers designed for use in parking areas
and driveways but not in traveled roadways. The opening of the chamber is the
same as the internal box dimensions.
1.06 SUBMITTALS
A. The Contractor shall submit to the Royal Commission, under the provision of
SECTION 01330, the following items for review and approval before commencing
Work:
B. After installation and commissioning of the equipment, the Contractor shall submit
the following:
A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the quality of work and shall develop and
proposed the methods of construction and testing such as to achieve the specified
quality to the approval of the Royal Commission in accordance with
SECTION 01450.
A. All materials and products shall be new, sound and uniform in quality, size, shape,
color and texture and shall be free from cracks or other defects.
B. All materials and products shall be suitable for operating under the full range of site
environmental conditions.
3. Contractor
B. In the absence of any of the above, best accepted industry practice shall be
employed throughout
1.10 COORDINATION
A. The Contractor shall be held responsible for the proper coordination of all phases of
the work under this Contract.
B. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to coordinate the work and equipment
as specified herein with work to be performed and equipment to be furnished under
other Sections of the specifications in order to assure a complete and satisfactory
installation.

A. All the equipment/material shall be tested at factory. The Contractor shall notify the
Royal Commission in writing not less than 30 days prior to the scheduled starting
date of the factory tests.
B. The Royal Commission reserves the right of deputing their representative for
witnessing the factory test.
C. Upon completion of factory test, and before shipment of the equipment/material, the
Contractor shall submit 5 certified copies of test reports not later than 10 days after
the completion of all factory tests for review/approval of the Royal Commission.
A. The Contractor shall deliver, handle and store equipment and material units in
accordance with SECTIONS 01650 and 01660, as well as the following
requirements:

PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 GENERAL
A. All goods and products covered by these Specifications shall be procured when
available from an in-Kingdom manufacturer. Procurement of all goods and products
manufactured out-of-Kingdom must be approved by the Royal Commission.
B. All materials for subterranean use shall suffer no deterioration from corrosive
elements found in the ground. Those materials used above ground shall suffer no
deterioration from constant exposure to direct sunlight.
A. General Requirements
4. Station equipment shall consist of standard single line instruments and multi-
line digital electronic telephone instruments with digital display, of the latest
state-of-the-art design.
b) The instruments shall employ only one adjustable ringer, bell, buzzer,
chime or electronic tone to announce calls. The signaling device shall

and remain illuminated for the duration of the call.

subsidiary ducts.

300/500 V and shall comply with IEC 60189.

a) Wire jointing type connector shall not be used for jointing over 200 pairs
at any joint.
b) Jelly filled wire joining type connectors may be provided for hand tool
jointing.
D. In-Line Connectors
1. Jelly filled or approved equal material in-line connectors are acceptable for any
size cable.
E. Modular Connectors
2. The modular connector shall have U-contact that grips the conductor between
the 2 cantilevered legs penetrating the insulation. Cut-off blades within the
module shall trim excess wire.
3. The module shall have test entry ports so that it is not necessary to
disassemble for testing.
1. The joint sleeves shall be of the mechanical closure type and shall meet the
following requirements:
b) Allow branch joints with 1 incoming and 2 outgoing and 1 incoming and
3 outgoing, or 2 cables in each end of the sleeve.
e) Be usable for filled and unfilled cables in both a horizontal and vertical
setting.
k) The splice case and joint sleeve shall be re-enterable and re-usable.
1. The mechanical splice case shall include a facility for providing electrical
continuity of the cable screen, including branch cables. This electrical
continuity shall have a current carrying capability of not less than a 23.6 mm
copper wire.
2. The Contractor shall guarantee that all shields are electrically continuous and
that at every joint location the screen is connected to the ground bus bar. The
Royal Commission will select 3 splice cases to be opened to verify continuity
and ground connections for this requirement.
c) The use of rigid metal conduit shall be permitted under all atmospheric
conditions and occupancies when corrosion protection or enamel
protection as required for special installations is provided.
4. For more information on indoor, outdoor and under floor raceways, refer to
SECTION 16130 as well as NEC Article 800.
B. The size and design of the raceway shall be as specified in the Contract Drawings.
The sizes must be adequate to accommodate circuits for the following equipment as
applicable:

4. Emergency telephone.
7. Console location.
8. Conduit entrance from the civil interface point to the distribution point location
as applicable.
3. Pull and junction boxes shall be either non-metallic or metallic boxes. Non-
metallic boxes shall be permitted only with rigid non-metallic conduit.
4. Pull and junction boxes shall be suitable for use with the selected raceway
system.
5. Boxes installed in wet locations and boxes installed outside shall be gasketed.
D. Trunking
1. All ends, tees angles etc. shall be the product of the same manufacturer.
Power, communication and data wiring shall be in separate compartments.
1. The various components of the plastic warning tape shall be colored green
throughout; they shall be impervious to chemical damage due to ground
conditions and their physical properties shall remain unchanged indefinitely.
The over printed writing shall be black colored.
2. The dimensions of the plastic warning tape shall be 200 mm wide and 0.4 mm
thick.
3. The tape shall be marked with durable black letters with the text in both Arabic
and English: “CAUTION BURIED TELECOMMUINCATIOMS CABLE” at
200 mm spacing. The letter shall be 30 mm minimum size.
2. The marker posts shall be prepared to accept the display signs as shown in
Figure 2B.
3. All marker posts shall be painted enamel white finish above and below ground.
3. The signs and the lettering shall be dimensioned as shown in Figures 2C and
2D.
1. The reinforced concrete tiles for protection of direct buried telephone and
CATV cables shall have the following dimensions:
Length : 500 mm
Width : 200 mm
Thickness of Edge : 30 mm
Thickness of Apex : 40 mm
2. Concrete to be used for construction of the tiles shall be prepared and tested
as specified in SECTION 03310.
3. The tiles shall be marked on one face in English and the other face in Arabic,
as shown in Figures 2E and 2F.
B. The grounding shall include all cable and installation hardware required. All radio
equipment shall be connected to earth ground via internal building wiring according
to NEC standards.
C. This includes:

1. Ground Rods
c) The rod shall be of sufficient strength to be driven through the soil found
at site location. The upper end shall either be equipped with or capable
of accepting a clamp that will also be capable of accepting a 16 mm2
ground wire.
2. Ground Wire
a) The ground wire shall consist of a 16 mm2 solid, annealed copper wire,
covered with a PVC outer sheath for corrosion protection. The minimum
thickness for the sheath to be 0.76 mm.
4. Ground Bus
a) The ground bus shall consist of a tinned copper ribbon of 16 mm2 cross-
sectional area. This bus shall appear in each bay equally spaced
between the cable racks. It shall begin 300 mm above the floor and shall
be mounted vertically to a height of 100 mm above the cable rack.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 GENERAL
B. The Contractor shall furnish all skilled labor and personnel including switch
technicians, installers, trainers, and the project manager, materials, tools and test
equipment for installation, commissioning and testing of telecommunication facilities.
D. Deviations from the plans, specifications and construction drawings shall not be
permitted except upon prior written authority of the Royal Commission.
E. The Contractor is responsible for coordination with the Saudi Telephone Company
and Ministry of CIT related to interface with the commercial telephone system.
B. During installation any excavation and backfilling work shall be carried out as
specified in SECTIONS 03310 and 02315.
C. During installation, the following shall be considered while breaking and restoring the
surface:
1. Paved surfaces shall only be broken in strict compliance with the drawings or
the prior written permission of the Royal Commission.
2. Broken surface material (asphalt, concrete, etc.) shall not be used for
backfilling but shall be removed from the site and disposed of as directed by
the Royal Commission.
A. The Contractor shall follow the manufacturer’s guide and Contract Drawings for
installation of subscriber telephone instruments and pay station telephones.
B. The Contractor shall follow the latest and modern way of installation.
2. The system must take into consideration all possible sources of high voltage
power currents, such as lightning bolts, overhead power transmission systems,
underground and power distribution systems.
4. If the existing grounding system is not considered adequate for the telephone
station ground, then a supplemental ground rod must be provided near the
point of telephone cable entry into the structure.
D. Electrical Safety
3. The earth or ground shall be installed and bonded in accordance with Articles
250 and 800 of NEC.
5. All equipments including wire management system, cabinets, racks, etc. shall
be grounded with copper wire that run external to the building and are
connected to the earth ground. If these items are installed in an area not
protected by a lightning protection system, the Contractor shall immediately
and in writing, notify the Royal Commission of the lightning strike hazard and
make appropriate contractual updates to accommodate this system.
2. All exposed surfaces and access openings shall be free from sharp edges,
open V slots or pointed ends.
2. All pairs in the external cables shall be protected by 3 element 350 V gas tube
arrestors at the customer premises.
3. Isolating links and transformers shall be provided as directed for each cable
pair entering an electrical power station.
5. Each building shall be cabled in accordance with the layouts shown on the
Contract Drawings.
6. Jumper connections at the MDF and all the terminal and distribution boxes
shall be provided.
G. The Electronic Private Automatic Branch Exchange (EPABX) and Key System
Facilities
1. The MDF shall be fitted with a 3 element, 350 V DC ionizing discharge tube for
every line or cable pair entering or leaving the building.
I. Extension Telephones
J. Specific Requirements
A. The EPABX installation shall comply with all laws and codes applying to
interconnected telephone installations in effect.
B. In the absence of specifications regarding details implies that best general industry
practices shall prevail and that first quality material and workmanship shall be
provided. The most stringent certification standards, (i.e. EIA, CCITT, and ITU) when
available, shall prevail.
C. All material, provided by the Contractor, shall be new and thoroughly tested. All
installation shall be carried out in a professional manner.
D. Installation of all equipment shall be fully coordinated with the Royal Commission.
E. The Contractor shall provide the appropriate modular jack (single or triplex) with an
appropriate cover plate for each outlet location identified and verified on the Contract
Drawings and approved by the Royal Commission.
F. The Contractor shall install all wall telephone instruments on a single modular jack
designed for wall telephone instruments.
G. All permanent telephone cables and wires shall be installed in conduit or an enclosed
duct system. Cable and wire not installed in conduit or an enclosed duct system must
be toughed or mechanically supported and separated from other signal cable
systems as described herein.
H. Electrical installations shall be made so that the possible spread of fire or products of
combustion will not be substantially increased. Openings around electrical
penetrations through fire-resistant-rated walls partitions, ceilings or floors shall be
fire-stopped using approved methods to maintain the fire resistance rating as
specified by NEC Article 300.
2. Coordinate and conduct the EPABX data base survey with a member of the
Royal Commission. The Contractor is responsible for identifying all
programming of features, classes of service, and equipment to be installed by
types and physical locations as specified in this document and all attachments.
After the survey is completed, a complete list of equipment shall be provided to
the Royal Commission for approval prior to start of installation.
3. Responsible for the removal and replacement of damaged ceiling tiles during
installation of the cable and wire distribution system. The Contractor shall be
responsible for restoring immediate areas that were damaged during the
system installation.
5. Remove all debris and scrap generated in the conduct of work on a daily basis.
6. Provide the Royal Commission with a Proof of Performance Test Plan for
review, coordination, and approval, 90 days prior to cut-over of the EPABX.
The plan shall be used for test and acceptance of the system. It shall include
sufficient tests to demonstrate the systems capabilities of providing the
services outlined in this document. Test equipment required for demonstration
shall be provided and approved by the Royal Commission. A list of test
equipment required shall be included with the acceptance test plan. Test
equipment shall have calibration certification within 6 months of system cut-
over.
7. Ensure that the Project Manager and sufficient skilled personnel remain on
premise until all items on the punch list, developed during inspection and
acceptance testing of the system are completed, inspected and accepted by
the Royal Commission.
9. Provide EPABX ground between EPABX and all interfaced systems such as
dictation equipment chassis, radio page equipment chassis, etc.
11. All portions of the system installation shall conform to local building and fire
codes.
12. The Contractor shall not use gasoline, benzene, alcohol, naphtha, carbon
tetrachloride, or turpentine for cleaning any part of the equipment. Flammable
materials shall be kept in suitable places outside the building.
A. Duct bank runs shall be encased in reinforced concrete as shown on the Contract
Drawings. Service entrance ducts shall be direct buried and heavy wall UPVC, as
required by this Specification and the Contract Drawings.
B. Duct Markers shall be placed at the midpoint between jointing chambers and at any
change of direction of a duct run. The duct marker shall be placed on the duct route
center line.
C. UPVC pipe ducts shall be 100 mm inside diameter and conform to IEC 60614 when
encased in reinforced concrete duct banks and shall be installed as specified in
SECTION 02580.
D. Direct buried UPVC pipe ducts shall be 50 mm inside diameter and conform to
IEC 60614.
F. Under floor ducts shall be made of welded rectangular steel tubing with rounded
corners. The ducts shall be provided with continuous separators between power and
communication cables. Under-floor ducts shall conform to IEC 61084.
H. Reinforcing bars shall be of steel in accordance with SASO 2 and shall be provided
in sizes required by the Contract Drawings.
1. The duct entrances in the end walls shall be on the same level to facilitate
proper cable racking and pull troughs where applicable.
2. The ducts entering the end wall shall be separated by 150 mm center to center
in the vertical and horizontal plans.
3. Where the duct enters on the side of the end wall, there shall be a 75 mm
separation between the ducts and the side wall.
A. Construction
2. Preparation of the base for jointing chamber shall be carried out as shown on
the Contract Drawings and specified in SECTION 02580.
3. The Contractor shall construct the formwork, using the dimensions shown on
the Contract Drawings and as specified in SECTION 03310.
4. The Contractor shall take particular care to ensure a tight seal around the
ducts entering the chamber. The ducts shall be centered in the space formed
by the reinforcing bars. Ducts on adjacent walls shall be placed at different
heights, so that cable from one duct shall not cross a cable or cables in
another duct bank.
5. All iron or steel fittings which are to be embedded in concrete shall be fixed in
position, as shown on the relevant Contract Drawings, prior to the placement
of concrete. The fittings shall be as specified and shown on the Contract
Drawings.
6. Underground cable racks shall be fastened to the jointing chamber wall using
anchor or expansion bolts. Ground rods shall be installed external to all
chambers. The ground connection shall be brought into the chamber by
passing the ground conductor through a 25 mm PVC sleeve in the chamber
wall. The sleeve shall be 200 mm below the ceiling of the manhole or the lip of
the handhole as shown on the Contract Drawings.
7. The ground conductor shall terminate on the wall mounted ground bus
equipped with sufficient screw type cable clamps to provide one clamp per
installed cable when the maximum number of cables permitted by the number
of ducts provided has been installed.
1. Cables shall be set up so that cables do not cross in front of empty ducts.
2. The cable shall not be allowed to contact iron pipes or other foreign metal
structures extending through the manhole.
3. Lower cable shall be racked no less than 250 mm from the bottom of the
manhole.
5. When bending a cable, slow steady pressure shall be used to avoid kinking the
sheath.
6. Before bending the cable, the sealed end shall be opened to release the wire
ends. This allows the wires to move freely within the sheath and prevent
serious kinks form developing.
1. Typical cable joint arrangement in manholes shall comply with STC 0031-
134.008.
2. All cables and joints in manhole shall be set well back against the manhole
wall or previously installed cable in accordance with the manhole cable racking
pattern.
3. Stump cables shall be used to connect spare pairs to stump joints to avoid,
when possible, the need to re-enter main joints.
4. Always a spare cable position in a joint shall be left for future cable when dead
pairs leave the joint and it shall be in the forward direction, away from the
exchange.
1. The maximum distance between jointing chambers equipped with ground rods
and earthing systems shall be 425 m. All manholes shall be equipped with
ground rods and earthing systems. All end-of-run joint chambers (including
individual service subscriber handholes) shall be equipped with ground rods
and earthing system. For an exception to this paragraph, refer to par. 3.06 D.3.
2. All cable shields shall be interconnected within the joint closure, including the
subscriber drop cable. All cable shields accessible during jointing shall be
connected to the earthing system when equipped in the jointing chamber. All
cable shields shall be connected to the earthing system at end-of-run
locations.
A. General
1. The Contractor shall be responsible for verifying that the correct cable is
placed in the correct duct and that the correct manhole hardware is in place, in
accordance with the Contract Drawings.
2. Once the jointing operation starts, it is expected the work will continue until
completed. Therefore, lighting equipment and power to operate it shall be
available in case work continues into the night.
B. Safety Precautions
1. The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect property and the
public and shall provide adequate warning signs, lights, no-parking signs and
barricades while installing telecommunication cables.
2. Tests for oxygen deficiency and harmful gases shall be conducted in all
jointing chambers immediately prior to entry and additional tests conducted on
a programmed 2 hour schedule during working hours in the jointing chambers.
A signed record of each test shall be made.
C. Setting Up Sequence
1. The Contractor shall remove any water and debris from the jointing chamber
and shall dispose of such water and debris as directed by the Royal
Commission.
3. The cable ends shall be positioned and prepared for jointing to provide the
appropriate joint opening dimension. Not more than 3 cables shall be brought
into one end of a cable joint.
4. Any tubular sleeves or molded parts required for the joint closure shall be
1. Jelly-filled in line connectors may be used for conductor jointing of all cables
up to and including 200 pairs.
2. A suitable type of crimping pliers shall be used. The jaws shall be inside the
opening in the head of the tool. There shall be a latch which ensures that when
the handles are operated they will not release until they have been fully closed.
Pliers shall be checked daily with a check gauge before jointing commences.
4. The conductors shall be jointed by keeping the ends even and parallel for a
distance of about 25 mm and inserting the conductors fully into the wire
connectors. The connector shall then be fully inserted within the jaw aperture
of the crimping pliers and the crimp made.
5. The Contractor may use a jig to assist in holding the conductors in place and in
the correct position for crimping.
1. Conductors in cables larger than 200 pairs shall be jointed using in-line
modular connectors.
2. The make and type of machine and connector used by the Contractor shall be
approved by the Royal Commission. It shall accept jelly covered conductors
without stripping the insulation and shall automatically cut the conductor to
length.
F. Joint Closures
2. The mechanical enclosure system shall cater for the full range of cable sizes
and jointing arrangements proposed and shall be approved by the Royal
Commission.
4. The earth wire shall be brought out of the joint closure electrically and
connected to the ground bus.
1. Cables shall be labeled in each jointing chamber using a long life label.
2. The cable code and count, as shown on drawings, shall be indelibly marked on
the label.
3. Straight through joints shall be labeled on the exchange side of the joint unless
there is a change of size or gage, in which case labels shall be provided on
both sides of the joint.
H. Completion
1. After completion of jointing and joint closure, the cable supports and ties shall
be placed in position.
2. Duct seals shall be placed in position in all ducts that contain cables.
3. All excess jointing materials, tools and rubbish shall be removed from the
jointing chamber.
4. Before replacing the jointing chamber covers, the seating in the frame shall be
cleaned and free from any sand or other foreign matter. Care shall be taken to
ensure that multiple covers are replaced in their correct positions.
I. Raceways
a) Design a grid type, in-floor ducting system for large office buildings
where the office space precludes use of wall mounted telephones. The
network shall be a combined telephone and low voltage duct with tray
3. Surface Raceways
a) The sizes of conduits, trays, etc., and terminal or junction boxes have to
be sufficient to accommodate the ultimate demand of all telecom
requirements. The design of the raceway shall be in a manner which
allows for simple wiring installation.
A. A ground rod shall be driven adjacent to the chamber and extended inside by a wire
passing through a 25 mm PVC duct in the chamber wall. The rod shall be driven at a
suitable time during the backfilling around the chamber. The rod shall be positioned
along the line of the duct route, within the width set by the chamber and far enough
away to avoid the chamber foundations.
C. Where rock prevents the driving of ground rods vertically, install ground rods at an
angle or grounding electrodes in horizontal trenches to achieve the specified
resistance.
A. The installation of all marker posts and signs shall be inspected prior to acceptance
of the duct bank or cable installation.
B. Plastic warning tape shall be installed as shown in Figures 3A and 3B for all direct
buried telephone and CATV cables.
C. Plastic warning tape and concrete tiles shall be installed as shown in Figure 3B for
all direct buried telephone and CATV primary and trunk distribution cables. Buried
armored cables shall not require the installation of concrete tiles but plastic warning
tape shall be installed.
a) The instruction for locating marker post in unpaved areas shall generally
be followed with the exception that the marker posts shall be located in
the nearest unpaved surface and the distance to the
telecommunications duct or cable shall be inscribed on a plastic marker
plate, dimensions 96 x 96 mm and this plate shall be fixed to the marker
post directly below the display signs.
b) The marking shall define the direction and distance, example W-3m
(West 3 m).
5. Locating Signs A to J
a) Signs shall be located and installed as shown in Figures 2B, 3D, and
3E.
a) Signs shall be located and installed as specified in par. 3.09 D.4 above
with the exception that the CATV sign shall be placed on the adjacent
face of the post (clockwise).
E. Construction
1. Care shall be taken to ensure the placement of marker post does not damage
the telecommunications or other existing utilities plant.
3. Marker posts shall generally be place within the 5.5 m. A duplicate of the
manhole number plate shall be attached to the manhole marker post
immediately below the marker post display sign.
A. Upon completing the installation of the system, the Contractor shall test the entire
system to insure proper working. The Contractor shall verify that the system is fully
operational and meets all the system performance requirements of this document.
Moreover, the system shall be checked to verify that all performance requirements
and standards are met. The performance requirements shall be verified using the
necessary test equipment.
D. Tests shall include, as minimum, opens, shorts, crosses, grounds and insulation
resistance.
E. The Contractor shall guarantee that all installed material and equipment will be free
from defects, workmanship and will remain so for a period of 1 year from the date of
final acceptance of the system by the Royal Commission. The Contractor shall
provide manufacturer’s equipment warranty documents certifying that all equipment
installed under this document conforms to its published specifications.
F. EPABX Test
1. System test shall comply with the specification of SECTION 16720. The total
system tests shall verify that the requirements have been met for all system
signals.
3. For the purpose of final acceptance, the telephone service shall be considered
interrupted when the failure of any Contractor provided data or telephone
equipment including batteries, results in an interruption of service. This
includes a failure of more than 20% of any trunk group, 15% of any number
group (15 or more stations), operator console, or telephone service to any area
determined to be critical by the Facility Director. Response time to restore
service shall have no bearing upon the term "interrupted service."
G. Cable Testing
1. Factory inspection and tests of jointing material shall be coordinated with the
Royal Commission to permit witnessing, if desired. Certified results shall be
submitted in accordance with par. 1.05 A.3.

a) The following type tests shall have been performed at the factory and
test results shall be available for review. If any of the following tests are
not on record for review, those tests shall be performed on a minimum
sample of 100 units chosen at random from a production batch.
b) The transition resistance shall be measured before and after each test,
(ASTM B63). The results of the tests shall indicate on deterioration in
the quality or performance of the component.
1) Vibration Test
(a) Frequency 50 Hz, amplitude ± 0.5mm, duration 5 hours.
2) Temperature Cycling
(a) Range
(i) - 20 to + 85°C. Five cycles shall be performed. One
cycle = 1 hour at + 80°C and 1 hour at - 20°C.

3. Joint Sleeves
a) Tightness to Pressure
1) Joint sleeves for filled cables shall be pressurized at overpressure
of 20 kPa and submerged in water for 20 minutes. The joint
sleeve shall be noted as failing if bubbles are observed.
b) Temperature Cycling
1) Joint sleeves for filled cables shall be placed in an environmental
test chamber and subjected to 20 complete temperature cycles.
2) Each cycle shall consist of raising the temperature form + 20 to
+ 80°C in 1 hour, keeping the temperature at + 80°C for 4 hours,
decreasing the temperature to - 20°C in 2 hours, keeping the
temperature at - 20°C for 4 hours and then raising the
temperature to + 20°C in 1 hour.
3) The test samples for filled cables shall be kept at an overpressure
of 20 kPa during the test.
4) The samples shall be monitored for pressure loss. After
20 complete cycles, the samples shall be subjected to a tightness
test as specified in 3.10 G.3.a.1.
c) Vibration Test
1) The cables leading in the joint shall be rigidly clamped at a point
500 mm from each end of the sleeve. The assembly shall be
mounted on a vibration table and shall be vibrated for 6 hours
through-out the frequency range 5 to 35 Hz.
2) The samples shall be monitored for pressure loss by means of a
flow meter.
e) Bending Test
