These days, it is a fact that technology is part and parcel of everyday life.
However, it is questionable whether the use of it at schools would be
beneficial. The truth is that as society changes, our educational system should
be improved. In my personal point of view, distance learning- the use of
information and communication technology for the purpose of learning at
home- is valuable for the following reasons.
To begin with, computers can make certain educational tasks extremely
enjoyable when technological tools, like gamification, are implemented.
Lessons can become more interesting and increase student’s participation. To
be more specific, computers make the lesson more attractive to teenagers
because they use something that are keen on. There are apps and games that
excite students who complete the courses. As a result, children learn far more
quickly and their motivation grows.
A further advantage of distance learning or else e-learning, is that it is friendly
to the environment. This means that, people do not use the means of
transport in order to go at schools. Consequently, as it is not required to
transform, we limit the air pollution. Additionally, there are restrictions on the
tree cuts due to the useless of pencils, papers and the enormous number of
books publications/editions.
On the other hand, there are some who believe that it requires technology
and equipment that can be expensive. They also claim that hardware could be
proved unaffordable as well as software. Although this an undisputed fact, I
am convinced that the money for this action will be given by the government
that can make cuts from other less important things, as this problem has a
highly vital educational aspect.
To sum up, we should say that technology is here to stay. People should
follow the today’s data and to develop their relationship with innovative
changes. For all the above reasons, I am inclined to believe that distance
learning is both an educational and interesting program that will be
successful.
