Course Title: Computational Statistics and Probability

Course code: MAT 3103

Pre-requisite:

General/ Major course:

Course Description: (one paragraph): Introduction, Data representation by graphical methods, Representation of data
by measurement scale, Descriptive Statistics, Use of probability in Statistics, , Random experiment, Probability and
probability laws, Random variable and its distribution including functions of random variables, Properties variable,
Probability distribution, Stochastic process, Sampling, Test of hypothesis, Correlation and regression.

Course Objective: (Outcome Based Education)

Knowledge:

1. To have an idea about Statistics and Probability.

2. To know how to apply Statistics and Probability in practical situation.

Psychomotor Skills:

1. To differentiate different aspects of Statistics and Probability.

2. To have an idea about practical application of Statistics and Probability.

Affective (Attitude, Behavior): When & how to apply theoretical idea of probability using practical engineering data.
