Vocabulary:
Batting Average – A measure of a batter’s performance, calculated as the number of hits
divided by the number of times at bat.
Ratio - The relationship in quantity, amount, or size between two or more things
(expressed as a quotient or fraction).
Slugging Percentage - A measure of the power of a hitter, calculated as the number of
total bases divided by the number of times at bat.
Statistics - A branch of mathematics dealing with the collection, analysis, interpretation,
and presentation of numerical data.
