 Background
Leadership is the process of influencing or modeling by leaders to followers in an effort to
achieve organizational goals. The natural way of studying leadership is to "do it in the work"
with practices such as apprenticeship to a skilled artist, craftsman or practitioner. In this
connection the expert is expected as part of the giving of instruction / instruction.

Most people still tend to say that effective leader have certain traits or characteristics that are
very important, charisma, foresight, persuasion power, and intensity. And indeed, when we think
of heroic leaders like Napoleon, Washington, Lincoln, Churcill, Sukarno, General Sudirman, and
so on we must admit that such traits are inherent in themselves and have been utilized to achieve
their desired goals.

 Theoritical Review
In English leadership is often called the leader of the root word to leads and activities are called
leadership or leadership. In the verb to to leads are contained in several intimately interconnected
meanings, move faster, walk ahead, take the first step, do the most used to pioneer, direct the
thoughts or opinions of others, guide, guide, move others early, walk ahead, take the first step, do
the very first, pioneering an action, directing thoughts or opinions, guide and move others
through influence.
 The Method
This research was conducted by questionnaire method as an indicator of the application of
Hersey and Blanchard model of leadership style in Bilingual Physics Education class 2017. The
samples are taken as many as 5 people as representatives in determining what kind is
appropriately applied in this class.

Judging from the research data, Leadership Style Participation is the most appropriate style to be
applied in the Bilingual Mathematics Education 2017 class with a total of 96 points. As for a
little review of Leadership Style Participation is the behavior of leaders (lecturers) emphasizes
on giving lots of support but little in direction. In this style the leader (lecturer) makes decisions
together with his followers (students), and supports their efforts in completing the task.
 Conclusion

Leadership style is an important factor in providing direction to the members who are led
especially at the current moment where everything is open, then the leadership needed is
leadership that can empower its members. Leaders must have the ability to manage, direct,
govern and motivate subordinates to obtain the desired goals.

After doing this research, it can be concluded that the appropriate leadership style applied in the
Bilingual Mathematics Education 2017 class is the Leadership Style of Participation.
