c) Identify the sensor, signal conditioner & display elements in the measurement systems

of (i) a mercury in glass thermo meter (ii) a Bourdon pressure guage 5 marks

2. a) Explain the following terminologies w.r.t sensors & transducers

i) Hysteresis
ii) Reproducibility
iii) Dead band / time
iv) Resolution ( BL -2 ) 08 marks

b) Three sensors are listed below

i) Pyro-electric sensor
ii) Hall - effect sensor
iii) Inductive switch
Identify / choose one sensor from above & explain the working principle of sensors used for
proximity detection, human motion & fluid level detection
