Title of Activity : School-Based In-Service Webinar on Literacy
Instruction (Pagsasanay sa Pagtuturo ng Panliterasi)

Purpose of the Activity : To enhance teacher’s competency on teaching Literacy

Rationale/ Introduction :
Literacy according to www.bridgeinternationalacademies.com is
the first step towards freedom and liberation from social and economic
constraints, it is prerequisite for development, both individual and collective.
Literacy is so fundamental to learning that its importance cannot
be overstated-it is the essential foundation of education.
Teaching literacy to pupils means giving them the ability to
communicate clearly and effectively and form the foundation of modern life.
Pupils that can’t read effectively fail since learners need to read effectively then to
grasp important concepts, score better on tests and ultimately, to meet
educational milestones, teachers skills on teaching literacy has to be enhanced
thus this webinar is design by Libertad Elementary School to conduct an In-service
Training about Literacy Program.
Objectives:
 Understand the Importance of reading with comprehension
 Interact with academic content: reading, writing, listening, speaking
 Demonstrate ability to think critically and problem solve
 Utilize information and digital literacy skills
 Apply the skills and strategies of a successful reader
