1. Express your thoughts on the following cases:

A. Can you imagine how the world would be if we do not have a language to use in
communicating? How would you describe it?
 If the world has no existing language it may tend too complicated in lots of things ,
we used language in doing many task by giving a command , we don’t understand
each other if language was none most of all we do not transmit of we hardly give
our point of view of perspective by using language .

B. Have you watched a TV program in a foreign language and you keep on viewing it without
understanding what the speaker is saying? How did you cope with the situation?
 I am watchful if what the news is all about then at the same time analysing some
visual videos flash on the screen then I understand the main point of the speaker.

2. Having familiarized yourself with the IPA and the segmental phonemes, analyze the following
examples and complete the unfinished sentences.

 The English word “fan” has three letters and three phonemes – the consonant phoneme
[f], the vowel phonemes [ae], and another consonant phoneme [n].
 The Tagalog version of fan is “paypay”. It has six letters and four phonemes – the
consonant phoneme [p], diphthong [ai], another consonant phoneme [p], and another
diphthong [ai].
 In Hiligaynon, “fan” is known also as “paypay” or “kuyab”. The phonemic transcription of
the word “kuyab” is [k], [u], [j], [a], [b]. In other words, there are five phonemes.

Based on the analysis of the phonemic structures.

A. I think that the phoneme of a word was help to distinguish the different pronunciation
accent and point or pronouncing of a word .

B. pronouncing a word help to share our ,idea ,perspective and point of view about anything
pronouncing of word was affiliated on speaking when we pronounce a certain world it
deals in thoughts .

C. when a word is written, how one enunciates it , a one certain word turn in more rational
when one or lots of world associated in one sentences world enunciates by way on we
written either its formal or informal.

Comparing the sentence structures including your own newly crafted structures. What have you
noticed? What comes first? Point similarities and differences of the sentence structures in
English, words n Filipino, and your mother tongue.

 I noticed that the sequence of word was changed but subject and thoughts
and idea was same by using my own mother tongue the sentence changed
however the main idea want to insinuate of sentence is just same ,

6. Analyze the following discourse.

Speaker A: Can you please pass the bag?

Speaker B: (Without answering , speaker B passes the bag to speaker A)

 What is the kind of sentence structure is spoken by Speaker A.

 What do you think is the intention of Speaker A?
Speaker A give a command to speaker B we noticed that the speaker B did action even
he/she wasn’t answer the speaker A the good communications was lost in term of verbal
but the non-verbal communication was happened where the speaker B to the task given
by Speaker A.
 Has communication taken place? Why do you say so?

I found that non-verbal communication prevail on the situation wherein the speaker B did
an action without doing an verbal way of communication even the speaker A do a verbal
communication speaker B do an opposite by A, in one conversation or even a one
communication we have to response and do not lost the communication do by others.
 Why did Speaker B respond by passing the bag to Speaker A? How did Speaker B
understand the utterance?

Speaker B responsed to speaker A because , speaker A understand the main thought that
speaker A speak out , speaker B understand the command given by speaker A is
beacuase he/she analyze thought of statement of speaker A .

How many expression in various Philippine language were you able to identify?
 I inherently know Tagalog and English because it is my mother tongue but I do not deny
that most of the given dialect is made from the internet which is my primary source of
information indeed only two dialect literally I made to identify base on my understanding
but the several dialect is came from the internet .

What advantages does one have if he can speak several Philippine languages?
 The advantages of being multilingual or speak several language is you do not hesitant
where place you’ve go because you can understand what they speak then you easily
adopt or understand their perspectives for instances if you go in an one certain place for
example in Bicol if you can talk or understand Bicol dialect you can easily build a great
communication .
