Chapter 1 General
1.1 Introduction
As portable intelligent non-destructive testing equipment, ZBL-R660 integrated
concrete rebar detector is mainly used to test the reinforced concrete structure and is
capable of accurately measuring rebar position, cover thickness and rebar diameter on
the reinforced concrete surface.
18) The device is designed as one-piece, which is more compact, portable and
convenient to carry;
1.4 Precautions
1. To make better use of the detector, please read this operation manual carefully
before use.
Please rinse host and socket with soft clean and dry cloth!
1.6 Responsibilities
The device is sophisticated detection equipment. Our company is not responsible
when the user commits one of the following acts or other artificial destruction.
1. Violate the aforementioned operating or storage environment requirements.
2. Abnormal operation.
3. Open the enclosure and dismantle any parts and components without permission.
4. The device is seriously damaged by human or fortuitous accidents.

soft keyboard input. The soft keyboard input interface is as shown in Figure 3.5, which
supports the following key operations:
【】、【】 、【】 、【】keys: adjust the current selected character;
【OK】 key: save the current selected character to the current object number bit and
select next object number automatically to adjust;

Targeting box
Passing rate
When the device fails to detect the rebar signal, the targeting box and the centerline
coincide and are displayed in grey; when the device moves and approaches to the rebar
gradually, the targeting box moves away from the centerline first and then approaches to
the centerline gradually from the screen edge. When the device is directly above the rebar,
the targeting box and the centerline coincide and are displayed in red, and meantime the
red indicator light on the device is illuminated, accompanied by buzzing; when the device
moves away from the rebar gradually, the targeting box moves away from the centerline
again and moves towards the screen edge gradually; after the signal of detecting the
rebar signal disappears, the targeting box and the centerline coincide again and are
displayed in grey.
If the targeting box coincides with the centerline during moving, but does not turn red
and the yellow indicator light on the device is illuminated, it means that the device is
directly above the central position of two adjacent rebars and it is suitable to drill the core
here.
When the device judges the position of one rebar, it will refresh the display of the
determined thickness. If the automatic storage mode is set, the device will save the
current estimated thickness automatically, calculate and display the passing rate, at the
meanwhile update the number of stored test points; under manual storage mode, press
【OK】 key to store the thickness of the test point automatically.
The following key functions are supported during JGJ scan test process:
【】key: start the diameter test function;
【】key: switch to manual or automatic storage mode;
【】key: switch to large or small range;
【OK】key: save the data of the test point based on current estimated thickness value
under manual storage mode;

【】key: save the current measuring data and exit JGJ scan test;
4) JGJ scan mode is initiated by our company. When the retest parameter is set as 2,
two thickness values of each test point shall be stored under this mode. Take the
average of these two measuring thickness as the deductive thickness value of
current test point. The interface after activating the retest function is as shown in

The following key functions are supported during signal scan test process:
【】key:start the diameter test function;
【】key: switch to large or small range;
【】key: switch to normal dense rebar (N) and extreme dense rebar (D) modes;
【OK】key: save current measuring data and end the signal scan test;
【】key: exit the signal scan test;
Long press 【⋯】 key: start the function of adding and deleting test points manually;
If the abnormal wave signal or deviation of wave is found when testing, backspace to
remove the wave with deviation and rescan,or press 【⋯】 button after scanning to enter
into manual add or delete test point interface, please see Fig. 3.12, this interface allows
users to conduct fine-tune for rebar position manually, the button functions supported by
this interface are as below:
【】button: add one rebar test point at the current location;
【】button: delete a rebar test point at the current location;
【】button: move the current cursor location to the previous rebar test point;
【】button: move the current cursor location to the next rebar test point;
long press 【】 button: move the current cursor location to the previous signal;
long press 【】 button: move the current cursor location to the next signal;
【OK】 button: save the current data and finish signal scan
【】button: exit signal scan test;

Scanning box
Grid scan is the mode that shall show the location, cover thickness and the
distance between adjacent rebar of grid tested rebar on grid graph.
The complete grid scan needs to conduct scan test in X and Y direction
respectively, when entering into grid scan interface, X direction scan will be selected as
default, when finish this scan, press 【】 button to switch to Y direction, during the switch,
it will show the interface asking whether switch to Y direction for scanning; as shown on
Fig.3.15, at this time, press 【OK】button to switched to Y direction scan directly, press
【】 button to cancel the switch
【⋯】 button: enter into the single scan of the currently selected location;

3.2.1.7 Diameter Detecting
Diameter detecting is supported by all the scan mode of the device.
At the detecting interface, move the sensor to right above the tested rebar, press
【】 button to startup diameter calculating, when finished, the device shows the
diameter and estimate the cover thickness, the display result waits for operating after 3
seconds, at this time, the sensor can be moved or press 【】 button to exit the interface
Please see Fig. 3.18 for the relevant diameter calculating interface

NOTE:
1) The location of device shall be constant during the diameter detecting, otherwise it will
cause the deviation of detecting results;
3.2.1.8 Signal Calibrating
When detecting environment changes or there is a big deviation between measured
cover thickness and designed value, signal calibrating is required here, press【⋯】button
momentarily to start signal calibrating process under the testing interface of various scan
modes, the signal calibrating processing interface as shown on Fig. 3.19

NOTE:
1) During signal calibrating, put the device on the air, stay away from metal objects,
press 【OK】button to start signal calibrating, following the interface prompt and wait for
the finish prompt, then automatically exit or exit by pressing any button;
2) During the signal calibration, if the reset signal value is too large, as shown in Fig.
3.19, at this time, restart calibrating;
