avoid hampering daily hotel operations.
The linen room is one of the areas maintained in the housekeeping department. It is where

needed number of linens must circulate during daily operations so that the additional

cloth fabric

Principles that applies in hotel laundering:

 Sort immediately- sorting linens upon arrival should be part of the laundering systems as
this saves time effort and makes work done efficiently.
 Wash linens together based on soil, fabric and color- this means that for example, linens
from hotel’s restaurant are wash together because they have the same type of soil and
stains.
 Mend before washing- linens that need mending should be repaired first before washing.
 No more soil- soiled linens should not be allowed to soil any further.
 Fold immediately- to avoid creases, once the linens have washed and ironed, they should
folded appropriately.
 Maintain a clean and orderly linen room- linens that are ready for delivery to different
departments are first stored in the linen room.
 Use the right equipment and the right amount of laundry chemicals. Machines and
laundry chemicals contribute to the overall output of laundered linens.
