Design and Drawings

includes Drawings (i.e. Standard Design, Basic Design), Design Requirement and Criteria
(DRC), Drawing Finalisation Manual (DFM) and Technical Specifications (TS). The
Contractor shall design in consideration to the parameters and requirements as defined in
Section VI- - Design Requirement and Criteria along with Drawing
Finalisation Manual (DFM). All the drawings provided by the Employer are defined in Section
VI-4 - Drawings.
1.3. Standard Design
1.3.1. Standard Design is defined as a set of design of several representative design options for the
main structures prepared by the Employer to satisfy the project specific requirements. As part
of Standard Design the Employer has provided particular designs for some structural elements.
List of particular designed structural element are given in DRC 0
Requirements. The Contractor is required to develop the Technical Design and the
Construction Design deriving from the Standard Design, with reference to the Drawing
Finalisation Manual (DFM), to suit the actual project conditions assuming different probable
design conditions in order to aid the Technical Design of the structures. The Contractor shall
not change the design conditions indicated in the Standard Design in a manner which is not in
accordance with the DFM. The DFM sets out a method for modifying Standard Design
drawings and a procedure for determining the final dimensions and other details of a structure
or member of the structure.
1.3.2. The Contractor shall produce the Technical Design based on the Standard Design drawings for
below mentioned structures, in accordance with the Site conditions, his construction
methodology, the Design Requirements and Criteria, DFM and Technical Specifications and

a. Viaduct & Bridges, Crossing Bridges (foundations, substructures and superstructures);


b. Rigid frame structures, approach viaducts for stations;
c. Earth structures (Ramp);
d. Ramp;
e. Drainage attached to the above structures;
f. Sub Maintenance Depot with 2 ramps.
1.3.3. If there is a case, wherein the site conditions do not match the conditions of Standard Design,

1.3.4. The depth of foundations and founding levels indicated in the Drawings are as per the tentative
soil data. The actual founding level shall be decided as per the relevant DRC and DFM based
on actual soil strata encountered during execution of work.
