1. Medical Equipment Asset labelling.

Every Equipment has a unique label so that from the label we can
identify the history of every equipment e.g.
 Location of Equipment.
 Date of purchase
 Purchase rate
 Total services
 Last service date
 Commonly occurring problem.

2. Creating Asset inventory.

Creating asset inventory in computer for fast identification of
instrument and track record of all data.

Role of Bio Medical Engineer in Every Visit:
1. Inspection of Instrument which are complained in period of past
visits by ward in charge.
2. Make repair/Service quotation as per agreement.
3. Repairing of Instruments.
4. Visiting high maintenance instruments.
5. Provide training to ward staff whenever necessary.
6. Making report of work.
7. Suggestion for purchasing medical devices and other technical
matter.
8. New instrument AMC, Warranty, CMC care.
9. Calibration Of all Equipment(Yearly calibration)

Other roles:
 Inspection of incoming equipment & machinery and doing pre-
acceptance checks before official acceptance & payment.
 Active involvement in the activities of the hospital’s safety
committee & checking safety hazards.
 Monitoring contract services viz. A.M.C. and C.M.C.
 Maintaining records; for e.g. equipment history.
Setting standards & ensuring their compliance.
 Maintaining the equipment to the best of its performance by
organizing a planned maintenance program for all equipment’s and
attending to emergency breakdowns and repairs.
 Quality Assurance Certification process for X-ray radiating device.
 Ambulance Maintenance.

Facility provide by hospital:

 Bio Medical Engineer working area for repair and service of equipment.
 Assistant person (whenever necessary).

Support to be provided by hospital:

 Making fast decision in Instrument Breakdown condition.
 Support for work any time.

 Price Quotation

 1 Year Contract. (Can be renewed after a year).

 Quarterly Charge-10,000+GST18%

 Emergency Visit Charge- 12000+GST18%

 Repairing Charges included in it.

 Spare part charges on actual basis.

 Payment on Quaterly basis.

 MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray machine breakdown is not included in this

quotation. For that outsourcing is required for repair and service.
