Activity 1

EVELYN NOLASCO BSED SCI 1-A

1. As a First year student, how has learning in these trying

times lessened or strengthened your desire to become a
teacher in the future? (1-2 paragraphs).

“ My dream must continue, despite the pandemic”, the line that I engraved in
my mind. Life changed suddenly for the entire world when Covid-19 arrived. But
my dreams haven’t changed. What has changed is the way I have to achieve them.
We have now our limitations in doing everything we used to be. Even the usually
face to face class turned into online class. Dreams are important in one’s person
because it will serves as the guide for the better future but in this time of crisis the
most important thing right now is health and the rest comes on top of that.
However, now that everything has changed. There are many concerns that the
pandemic has brought including unemployment, economic crisis and collapse of the
health system which makes it even difficult for me in achieving my dreams.
Online class is no easier than the class offered in the traditional classroom
setting and in some cases can be more difficult. In my case, it was such difficult
because I’m used to have a direct contact on my teacher. I’m used to because a
dependent learner way back when I’m in senior high school. But the time flies very
fast and we are now in the second semester. I gradually adapted this new mode of
learning. All I have to do to successfully participate in an online class is that, I
must be will organized, self-motivated, and possess a high degree of time
management skills in order to keep up with the pace of all subjects. I am doing my
best to keep up with my studies at home as my desire to learn has not stopped. This
pandemic makes me feel much eagerness to pursue my dreams. Yes, it is given that it
is hard and new to us but by taking step by step slowly we would be able to reached
the top how high it is. We should never let this pandemic or anything to hinder us
as we chase our goals in life. Although this pandemic lessened the things we usually
do but it strengthened my faith in God as well as to myself that I can I achieve my
dreams no matter what. Experiencing this kind of event and Cope up/survive with
it is something to be proud of. How I manage to survive and achieve my dreams
despite of the difficulty and despite of the pandemic is a story to tell that I can be
also use to inspire my future students.
