Triplex Board Duplexing is the process of bonding two sheets of board

together to create a thicker board. Triplexing involves

sticking three sheets of board together and quadplexing is
four sheets. This technique is perfect to use for the
creation of high quality exclusive invitations & business
cards. It is an innovative way to use more than one
coloured board to create a sandwich effect.
Solid Unbleached Board
Solid unbleached board, also known as SUB, is a grade
of paperboard typically made of unbleached chemical pulp.
Most often it comes with two to three layers of mineral or
synthetic pigment coating on the top and one layer on the
reverse side. Recycled fibres are sometimes used to
replace the unbleached chemical pulp.
The main end use for this type of board is for packaging
of frozen or chilled
food, beverage carriers, detergent cereals, shoes, toys and
others.

Kraft Linerboard
The facings or outside & inside surfaces of the corrugated
panel that constitutes a box. It is generally made from a
mixture of kraft and recycled pulps. • Corrugating Medium:
The material that is fluted on a corrugating machine, and
separates the inside and outside facings of a corrugated
panel.
Semi-chemical corrugating
A semi chemical fluting is a paper predominantly made
medium from semi chemical primary fibres pulp. Semi Chemical 1
has generally a content of more than 80% semi
chemical primary fibres. CMT and either CCT or SCT CD,
shall be used to express the compression stiffness.
Bogus Corrugating Medium Made from a reclaimed paper stock, most of which is Kraft
mechanically disintegrated in water to give a pulp
suspension. Its sole use is to form corrugated
flutes in the walls of corrugated shipping containers.

Filler Chipboard
Fften referred to as chip, container chipboard or filler
board. It is prepared from a mixed wastepaper pulp in a
range of gauges and weights similar to linerboard. Its
major use is in the lamination of solid fiberboard.
Linerboards are also used in the manufacture of bottle
containers/carriers and can packs in the beverage and
other industries. The beverage “six pack” where good
strength is required is made from a Kraft linerboard that
has been clay coated for good printing surface.
Bleached Board
The solid bleached board, often referred to as ivory
paperboard, SBS C1S, SBS C2S, is widely used for the
custom printed paper boxes, particularly for the cosmetic
paper boxes, food paper boxes and retail paper boxes.
Fiber Board
Fiberboard or fibreboard is a type of engineered wood
product that is made out of wood fibers. Types of
fiberboard include particle board or low-density fiberboard,
medium-density fiberboard, and hardboard.
Corrugated Cardboard
Corrugated fiberboard is a material consisting of a fluted
corrugated sheet and one or two flat linerboards. It is made
on "flute lamination machines" or "corrugators" and is used
for making cardboard boxes.
Solid White Board
This is normally top quality cardboard made from quality
bleached wood pulp. It is the best card for printing on to
and consequently it is used for hard backed books and
more expensive items.

ABSTRACT:

Paper and cardboard packages are one of the most economic ways of packaging. Easy treatment,
favorable cargo advantages and durability are the main reasons for choosing the paper and
cardboard in production. From various different quality and quantity cardboard material, endless
shape and form cardboard packages can be produced. According to industry estimates, paper can
be recycled an average of 4 to 6 times. Each time recycling occurs, the fibers become shorter and
weaker and virgin pulp must be introduced into paper production to maintain the strength and
quality of the fiber. Through this process, recovered paper and forest-based product complement
each other ecologically and economically. Easy production and economic advantages make
paper and cardboard materials very favorable in packaging industry.

The researchers studied carefully the characteristics of each paper film following the
summarized guide presented for ease in identification. Tabulate results of your observation and
indicate the
major characteristics (distinguishing) for each type studied.
