Online Learning, Solution or Delusion

As of today, online learning is being hailed as the saving grace that allows students to continue their
education in this time of pandemic, but is it truly so?

The #nostudentleftbehind is causing an uproar in the social media platforms. Hundreds of students are
starting to voice their displease about the current set up we have with our education system. Some says
that it is bias to the upper class, others say that it is nothing more than a band aid solution, while some
goes as far as to call it a delusion. Facing the current reality people find themselves in today, there are
indeed multiple problems with online learning. However, is it truly the one that we should call
delusional?

People say that the entire country should just partake in a massive academic freeze to solve all the
problems that we have, but in reality, that is the true delusion. Understanding the facts about this
pandemic, there is no guarantee that by next year everything will continue as it was. There is no
guarantee that there will no longer be the threat of Covid by next year or even in the year after that,
cause in reality making a vaccine takes 4 years and that is the bare minimum.

Sure, online learning may give students some difficulties here and there but don’t forget that the
teachers too are having a hard time just to give the education that their student needs. This set up might
not be the most comfortable one, nevertheless, it provides solution for the problems that we have in
educating the young people of today and that is what truly matters.
