BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

Instructions. In 5-7 sentences, answer the following questions.

1. As a future broadcaster, what advice can you give yourself so that you can become

an effective and competent communicator?

Improve more about your communication skills both in writing and speaking. these two are part of
the essential ingredients to effectively communicate, and be more clear when pronouncing words
because no one wants to listen to a person they don’t understand. And always remember dear that in
broadcasting you are there to report unbiased news, so always double investigate to hold of the
cutting edge stories. This would give you distinct advantages over competitors. And lastly don’t be
vulnerable to fake news because it’s your job to cure it.

2. What barriers do you usually experience when you communicate?

Noise, jargon words, different point of view are the usual barriers I’ve experienced. But At this time
of pandemic where everyone is in the internet I guess the barrier I usually experience is slow internet
connection. And we all know that it’s a big challenge to everyone specially students and teachers.

3. What distinguishes listening from hearing?

The” understanding,” in listening the listener will understand and interpret the message while in
hearing, you will just hear but there will be no response in terms of understanding and interpreting
the message.
