My abilities

Read this composition.

Before I came to this country I couldn’t do many things in English. For example, I
couldn’t follow a conversation if too many people were talking at the same time. I
couldn’t express what I wanted to say. I couldn’t pronounce words properly. I
remember one occasion at a party, I couldn’t understand a word. I felt so uncomfortable.
Finally, my aunt came to pick me up, and I was able to leave the party.

Today I can understand much better. I can expr Wess my opinions and I can have a
conversation in English. I am taking classes at the adult center. My teacher is very
good. explain things well, and she always gives us the chance to talk a lot in class. I
can do a lot now, and I think in a few more months I can do even more. I cannot wait
until the day I am completely bilingual.

When I was a kid, I couldn't do many things. For example, I couldn't go to school alone, I
couldn't cook, I couldn't organize my room, I couldn't wash my clothes, I couldn't interact
with other children, I couldn't get on public transport, I couldn't cross the street alone, no I
could go out alone, I couldn't drink, I couldn't go to parties, I couldn't handle a computer, I
couldn't use a cell phone, I couldn't watch a horror movie without crying, I couldn't sleep
alone, I couldn't drive a car, I couldn't sleep very late.

All this changed when I grew up, now I can do many new things such as: cooking, I can
wash my clothes, I can go to university alone, I can fix my apartment and keep it clean, I
can travel to different places alone , currently I cannot drive a car but I can drive a
motorcycle, I could overcome many things that scared me, I learned to relate to people
and thus I could make friends, I could learn several languages, and most importantly now I
can make my own decisions
