5. Remain inside your house.
6. If caught outdoors, protect your head from rocks and immediately run inside your house.
7. Listen to radio or television for the latest emergency information.
8. Stay away from volcanic ash fall.
9. Follow evacuation plans. Follow the authorities’ instructions and leave the area before the
disaster begins.
10. Evacuate before volcano erupts.
11. Have a plan in case family members are separated.
12. Wear long-sleeved shirts and pair of pants to protect you from volcanic dust.
13. Never watch an erupting volcano. Stay away from it.
14. Clear your house from ash fall or dust.
15. When outside, wear goggles to protect your eyes and use damp cloth to protect your
mouth and nose.
