After more than four years of decline, the global mining market, spurred primarily by increases in metal and mineral commodity
prices, is finally showing signs of an upturn. That will likely mean an upturn in activity in places like the Roy Hill iron ore mine in

The Stockholm-based manufacturer specializes
in complete engine cooling systems used in mining, con-

It also supplies systems to forestry machines, stationary
pumps and generators, crushing equipment, compressors,
engine power packs and cranes.
Total thermal management design includes the coolant
radiator, charge-air cooler, hydraulic coolers, fuel coolers,
air-conditioning condenser, fan shroud and cooling fan.
The company’s modular design incorporates a mounting
frame and as required, fans and fan drives, expansion tanks,
vibration isolators, piping, pumps, thermal bypass valves and
other accessories. Ymer’s technical support includes assis-

At Intermat 2018, the company is launching a cooling
module with a side-by-side integrated air-conditioning con-

there is no matrix in front of the cooler which could add as

adding a clogging risk.

apanese engine manufacturer Kubota — behind its
self-described “newly confident, outward facing ap-
proach” from its European business arm — will use
Intermat 2018 to provide the first public showing of its
new three-cylinder WG1903 spark-ignited engine.
The company will also have the official European unveiling
of the new 09 Series, represented by the 5 L V5009 diesel.
Both new engines are Stage 5-compliant, the company said.
The WG1903 is specifically designed for use with lique-
fied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, natural gas and duel
fuel capability, Kubota said.
The naturally aspirated engine has a rated output of
35 kW at 2700 r/min with maximum torque of 140 Nm
at 1400 r/min (LPG) and 133 Nm at 1800 r/min (gasoline).
Bore and stroke is 88 x 102.4 mm for a total displacement
of 1.9 L. Engine dimensions are 551 mm long, 540 mm
wide and 701 mm high, with a dry weight of 166 kg.
Kubota said the engine, suitable for small construction and
mobile off-highway applications, will be available in 2019.
Kubota will use Intermat 2018 to provide the first public
showing of its new 1.9 L, three-cylinder WG1903 spark-
ignited engine.
The company will also show its V5009 diesel, which will
be available in 2020 and is suitable for a range of applica-
tions including larger scale construction equipment, crush-
ers, screeners and highway projects, Kubota said.
The four-cylinder V5009 has a rated output of 157.3 kW
at 2200 r/min and maximum torque of 883.1 Nm at 1500 to
1600 r/min. Engine dimensions are 898 mm long, 710 mm
wide and 972 mm high. The dry weight is 620 kg.
Kubota BU Engine Europe Marketing Manager Daniel
Grant said Intermat is an important event in the run-up to
the start of EU Stage 5 implementation beginning in 2019.
“European OEMs are now at critical stages in product
design and development in preparation for EU Stage 5 in
