Love Knot Bag

TENSION 1st gathering:
10 x 10 cm: 30 tr and 13 rows. With colour A, on the upper side, make a row of dc, making *5 dc, skip 1*
(repeat 61 times from * to *): 126 dc.
ABBREVIATIONS 1 row of dc2tog on every dc (insert the hook on the dc, pull a loop, insert
Chain (ch) the hook on the next dc, pull a loop, work these 2 loops together: 1 de-
Double crochet (dc) crease): 64 dc.
Double crochet 2 together (dc2tog) 1 row of dc2tog on every dc: 32 dc.
Treble (tr) 6 rows of dc. These 9 rows will form what we will call the “lapel”.
Treble crochet (ttr) **Begin working on the side of the square, making 10 dc on the side of the
Solomon’s Knot (SN) lapel, continue with dc2tog:
Stitch (st) 77 dc.**

INSTRUCTIONS 2nd gathering:

Cast on 150 ch with colour A + 3 to turn. these 3 ch will form the first tr of
the row.
Make 2 rows of tr (151 tr).
On the next row, begin working the SN. Make the first knot at the begin-
ning, make a second knot and make a dc on the 10th tr from the 2nd tr (9
tr between each dc).
Repeat until you have 15 pairs of SN. At the end of the row, make 5 ch to
begin the next row.
Next row: 1 SN, *1 dc on the union of the 2 SN of the precedent row, 2 SN*
(repeat 14 times from * to *), 1 SN, 1 ttr to begin the next row.
Repeat these two rows two more times.
Next row: from the ttr, make *9 ch, 1 dc on the union of the 2 SN* (repeat
15 times from * to *): 151 st.
Make 1 row of tr on the ch and dc, change to colour B, 1 row of tr in colour
B, and begin again the SN sequence. Once the 6 rows of SN are made,
from the ttr, make *9 ch, 1 dc on the union of the 2 SN* (repeat 15 times
from * to *): 151 st.
Make 1 row of tr on the ch, always with colour B.
On the next row, change to colour C and make 1 row of tr, 6 rows of SN, 1
row of ch and dc and 1 row of tr.
Change to colour B and repeat the sequence of tr and SN until you have
5 complete patterns, finishing with colour A. Finish with 2 more rows of tr
in colour A.
On the two sides of the square that we have now, make a row of dc distrib-
uted as follows: 2 dc on each vertical tr and 26 dc distributed on each of the
sections of ch or ttr on the SN pattern: 154 dc.
Soak well this piece, dry with a towel to eliminate the excess of water and
block with pins on a blocking pad to get a square of approx 56 x 56 cm.
When the piece is perfectly dry, we will sew the square of fabric.
Put the fabric on the side that will be the interior of the bag, with the right
side facing the bag; make a little hem all around and sew to the borders
with small stitches, leaving a little margin on the upper and lower sides (sew
as next as possible to the SN parts).
Always with colour A, on the opposite side of the first lapel, make:
1 row of *5 dc, skip 1* (61 times from* to *).
1 row of dc2tog: 64 dc.
1 row of dc2tog: 32 dc.
These 9 rows will form the second lapel.
Repeat from ** to **.
Make 10 dc on the side of the lapel, cut the thread and join colour B.
Make a chain of 100 st and join on the other side of the lapel.
Make 10 dc on the side of the lapel and keep working on the side of the
square, making *6 dc, skip 1* (repeat 7 times from* to *), 10 dc on the side
of the other lapel, 1 chain of 100 st, join on the other side of the lapel.
Make 10 dc on the side of the lapel, keep working on the side of the square
making *6 dc, skip 1* (repeat 7 times from* to *).
Make 10 dc on the side of the lapel.
Make 1 row of dc on the first chain, keep working with dc on the side of
the square until you arrive to the other chain, make a row of dc on the 2nd
handle, keep working with dc on the side until you arrive to the first handle.
To make the handle sturdier, make a row of dc, enveloping the row of ch
and dc. The outcome is a kind of cord.
Keep working dc on the side of the bag, repeat the enveloping row on the
other handle and make one more row of dc on the other side of the bag,
cut the thread and weave in the ends.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
All our threads are produced in accordance with Oeko-tex standards.
PHvalues are tested and all our colors dye lots adhere to Global fastness
standards. However, it is important to follow our thread washing instructions.
Particularly with dark colors, excess dye can remain on the thread. To minimize
any potential bleeding of excess dyestuff it is important to wash the products
in THE HOTTEST TEMPERATURE possible, in accordance with the specifica-
tions of the fabrics, and use a large amount of water. Please make sure that
you also follow the fabric washing instructions. As a precaution, you can
also use decolorating sheets that you can find in any supermarket.
