Mass Guide (1st Com)
INTRODUCTION
Reader:
Dear brothers and sisters, we are gathered today to sing our song of thanks and
praise to God Almighty, a witness to our everyday life, and who guided us to what we
are now. He has been with us and has let His presence be felt in our day to day
activities, in our struggles and conquests, doubts and uncertainties, success and failures.
We thank Him for all these and for the love we share, for the trust we place in one
another and for the growth of our school. Let us praise Him for his goodness.
As we start the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, let us all stand and join in the
singing of the entrance hymn.

fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
People : I confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters, that I
have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words, in
what I have done, and in what I have failed to do; and I ask blessed Mary,
ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you my brothers and sisters, to
pray for me to the Lord our God.
Priest : May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us
to everlasting life.
People : Amen.

His children.
Let us say to Him: Lord, hear your people.

raise our voices in prayer.

and let us serve Him in freedom, we pray to the Lord.
Leader : For the aged who suffer from loneliness and infirmity, that we will
sustain them by your love. We pray to the Lord.

unjustly deprived of freedom. We pray to the Lord.
Leader : Oh Lord, bless the Philippines and its people and guide our government
leaders so that they will do their duties with all honesty and dedication for
the people. We pray that your teachings will prevail in every way.
Leader : For our Pope, Benedict, our Bishop, Angel, all the Church’s ministers
and the people they have been called to lead and serve. We pray.
Leader : For our catechists and for all those who have done their best to make
this a happy day for all of us, that they may go on helping us to love
one another more. We pray.
Leader : With gratitude in our hearts and inspired by the words of God we
pray for the parents who have sacrificed so much for their children. We
pray.
Leader : Finally, we pray for these first communicants. Teach them to dedicate
themselves to the tasks based on the Christian faith and realize that their
daily activities are the best love offerings to the Lord. We pray.
Priest: Almighty God, You have called us here together as one family. Listen to our
prayers. Help us to live more and more for You and to do everything with
Your Son, Christ our Lord.
People : Amen
Leader : Father, with humble hearts, we offer You these gifts. Through them
we are able to work for what is good and for Your great glory. Take Lord,
receive, all is Yours now.
We offer You these candles - symbol of our burning faith and hope to walk
with firmer steps through the lights and shadows of life.

Yours. We give ourselves to You and others without reserve.
Priest: Pray brethren, that this sacrifice may be acceptable to God, the Almighty
Father.
People : May the Lord accept the sacrifice at Your hands for the praise and glory
of His name, for the good, and the good of all His Church.
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
For such great love we thank You with the angels and saints as they praise
You and say:
To be sung: Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of power and might,
Heaven and earth are full of Your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Priest : Father, you are holy indeed and all creations rightly give you praise. All
life, all holiness come from you through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord,
by working of the Holy Spirit. From age to age You gather a people to
yourself, so that from east to west a perfect offering maybe made to the
glory of Your name.
And so Father, we bring You these gifts. We ask You to make them
holy by the power of Your Spirit, that they may become the body and
blood of Your Son our Lord, Jesus Christ, at whose command we celebrate
in this Eucharist.
On the night He was betrayed, He took bread and gave You thanks
and praise. He broke the bread, gave it to His disciples and said:
Priest: When supper was ended, He took the cup again he gave You thanks and praise,
gave the cup to His disciples and said:
People : Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again
Priest : In memory of his death and resurrection, we offer You, Father, this life-
giving bread, this saving cup. We thank You for counting us worthy to
stand in Your presence and serve You. May all of us who share in the body
and blood of Christ be brought together in unity by the Holy Spirit.
Lord, our God, listen to our prayer. Send the Holy Spirit to all of us
who share in this meal. May the Spirit bring us closer together in the family
of the Church, with Benedict, our Pope, Angel, our bishop, and all who
serve Your people.
Priest : Remember, Father, our families and friends and all those we do not love
as we should. Remember those who have died. Bring them home to You
with You forever.
Priest : Gather us all in Your kingdom. There we shall be happy forever with the
Virgin Mary, mother of God, and our mother. There all the friends of Jesus,
the Lord, will sing a song of joy.
Priest: Through Him, with Him, in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and
honor is Yours, Almighty Father, forever and ever.
People : Amen.

hope for the coming of our savior Jesus Christ.
