Introductory Message!
Introductory
Welcome to TVL 11 Message
- IA (Electronic Product Assembly and Servicing)!

The Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of the

Schools Division of Iloilo and DepEd Regional Office VI - Western Visayas through
the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is developed to
guide the learning facilitators (teachers, parents and responsible adults) in helping
the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials aimed to

guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the
contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in
acquiring the lifelong learning skills, knowledge and attitudes for productivity and
employment.

For learning facilitator:

The TVL 11 - IA (Electronic Product Assembly and Servicing) Activity

Sheet will help you facilitate the leaching-learning activities specified in each Most
Essential Learning Competency (MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face encounter
between you and learner. This will be made available to the learners with the
references/links to ease the independent learning.

For the learner:

The TVL 11 - IA (Electronic Product Assembly and Servicing) Activity

Sheet is developed to help you continue learning even if you are not in school. This
learning material provides you with meaningful and engaging activities for
independent learning. Being an active learner, carefully read and understand the
instructions then perform the activities and answer the assessments. This will be
returned to your facilitator on the agreed schedule.

Terminating and Connecting Electrical Wiring and Electronic Circuits (TCEC)

I. Learning Competency

LO 1. Plan and prepare for termination / connection of electrical wiring /

electronics circuits.
(TLE_IAEPAS9-12TCEC-IIIa-20)

1.1 Check materials in accordance with specification and task

II. Background Information for Learners

Basic Electrical and Electronic Materials

Electrical materials - materials used to control the current flow in

an electric circuit like circuit breaker and fuses which can be used to protect
the electrical appliances and devices and it can prevent fire hazards and
damage.

Electronic materials - are the materials used in electrical industries,

electronics and microelectronics, and the substances for the building up of
integrated circuits, circuit boards, packaging materials, communication
cables, optical fibers, displays, and various controlling and monitoring
devices.

To work with electrical and electronic circuits, beginner needs to know

what are the different types of electrical and electronic materials and their
uses and function of each material.

IV. Activity Proper

1. Directions / Instructions

Be familiar with the table below and answer Activity 1.1 and 1.2 that
follows:

Name of Materials Symbols Functions

Used to protect electrical
appliances, parts and
Fuse electronic components from
potential damage due to a high
current

 Ampere – flowing in the

circuit.

It is used by the national

electricity grid to measure the
Electric meter units of electrical energy used
in your household circuits.

Used in light circuits and plug

socket circuits to connect or
disconnect the circuit
according to the will of the
Switch individual.
There are different types of
switches such as Push Button,
Press Button, Toggle and
Rocker while the latter is the
universal light switch used on
most houses these days

5
Capacitors Device that stores electrons

Resistors Device that limits or resists

current.

Diode  Two-terminal electronic

component that conducts
current primarily in one
direction (asymmetric
conductance); it has low
(ideally zero) resistance in one
direction, and high (ideally
infinite) resistance in the other.
Integrated Circuit Complete electronic circuit,
(IC) containing transistor and
perhaps diodes, resistors and
capacitors, along with their
interconnecting electrical
conductors, processed on and
contained entirely within a
single chip of silicon.
Light-Emitting Diode Semi-conductor device
(LED) specifically a pn junction diode
fabricated from materials that
emit light when forward bias.

Electrical / Electronic Conductors that

Wire transmit electricity from a
source, usually a nearby
transformer, to an outlet in
your home or business. They
also conduct electricity in
appliances and electronic
devices.
Printed Circuit Board Electrical circuit whose
(PCB) components and conductors
are contained within a
mechanical structure.
