I. TITLE OF WEB-BASED SEMINAR:


Project REV-U for Teachers (REVVING-UP EDUCATION THROUGH VARIEGATED
UPSKILLING FOR TEACHERS)

II. RATIONALE
Shifting to the “new normal” already became the talk of every school and every home. As
there is no end date for remote learning, schools have to sit down and re-think of the next course
of action to mitigate untoward situations related to modular instruction. With the external factors
that could affect the quality of student’s learning like parental participation and home environment,
teachers play an important role in setting up an environment initiating parental action. This includes
proper training on how to deal with some parental behaviors towards learning. One way to start it
off seamlessly is to communicate our goals properly to parents without them feeling burdened.
Communicating the proper way leads to better understanding and improved participation on the
part of the parents.

Since our role from the beginning of the pandemic has involved both service provision and
strategic planning, we’ve done our best to give equal attention to both areas. Since there were no
precedents or existing benchmarks to help us navigate through these difficult circumstances, our
mitigating response come from feedbacks of parents, students as well as teachers immersed in the
said modality.
With these in mind, a one-day Learning Action Cell through a webinar platform will be given
to teachers. This webinar will serve as a venue to upskill teachers professionally especially in
dealing with the new normal.

III. PROGRAM / COURSE DESCRIPTION


This project will be a series of LAC sessions through a webinar on different topics that is
timely and poses immediate action especially in the implementation of the learning modality in the
new normal. This project will be utilizing the Google Meet platform to facilitate the whole webinar.
The first topic will be on capacitating teachers in dealing with parents and stakeholders in
the modular learning of students. This will be a one-day training to be implemented on September

17, 2020 with the following subtopics to be discussed: 1) DepEd Manual of Style and 2) Revving
the Ride with the School’s Stakeholders in the New Normal. The first session topic on DepEd
Manual of Style will be divided into 3 subtopics to be discussed by 3 resource speakers. The
second session topic will be dealing with improving linkage and participation of stakeholders in
addressing the issues of education in the new normal with another resource speaker.

IV. LEAD IMPLEMENTING UNIT


The lead implementing unit of this project is Bula National High School, with the School’s
LAC Officers and members.

V. PARTICIPATING UNIT
The Bula National High School Teaching staff will be the participating unit in this webinar.
With their role as the direct contact of parents in dealing with their school children in educating
them at home, teachers are expected to deliver the necessary tools appropriate to each learner
and parent as well.

VI. TARGET PARTICIPANTS


The sixty-eight (68) teachers of Bula National High School in the Junior and twenty-three
(23) in the Senior High School who are advisers and subject teachers are the target participants of
this training.

VII. NO. OF HOURS:


The training webinar will be good for a maximum of 8 hours. The resource speakers will
only be given 1 and ½ hours for their presentation including their activities.

The platform to be used in this web-based seminar is the Google Meet or the ZOOM
