Stepping in the year 2020 a lot of tragic events happen all over the world including

natural calamities, deaths, politics, racism, and worst is the virus. We can’t deny the fact that this
year seems an organized event that brought tears, devastation, and misery to the lives of all
people. In my beloved country the Philippines, I witness how it’s like sequels how tragedies
happened. The first month was the volcanic explosion followed by an animal virus, Pandemic on
the third month followed by another disaster. Witnessing how the challenges getting worse every
month, looking at the brighter side, I also witnessed the act of kindness and how compassionate
the people are amid the tragedies as well as the virus worldwide.

And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will
proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy,
and will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Exodus 33:19 as the world
continues its fight against all the current issues and tragedies, lots of people did various things
during the pandemic and tragedies. Although most struggle to survive, others, with whatever
resources they have, do an act of kindness and compassion to people in need. We see hope in all
those people who share positivity during times of hardship and do positive things.

One thing I always have in mind in times of challenges is to love thy neighbor as you
love thy selves. I see Christ's love and compassion through the people who show acts of kindness
for those who struggle. I can see the pain through the eyes of many, as well as the joy of some
who served in these challenging unfortunate events that are happening around the world. Christ's
love is unconditional, we may not see it but deep in our hearts He is there listening right from our
sufferings, pain, devastation, darkest moments even the joy and best time of our lives. We can
feel him talking to us not just in silence and prayers but sometimes through the people who are
always with us because Christ loved us in so many ways, works in the way we can’t see
importantly He will make a way.

2020 is a challenging year but here we are, fighting through prayers and strengthening
our faith because we believe that we have a powerful God and that’s what makes us alive. Before
writing this essay, I didn't pray to win instead, I prayed to God to give me peace of mind and
freedom to write what I truly feel, I prayed to let me finish this essay, grant me knowledge and
wisdom, and with that, I felt alive and grateful because of Christ love for me He listened and let
me finished these wonderful thoughts of mine. Let our Filipino Bayanihan spirit with Christ
Love and Compassion fight battles against tragedies and challenges for we fight as one.
