Journal Entries

Pick 2 Characters
You need to pick two characters from the story The Contender. Your choices are:

 Aunt Pearl

Write a journal entry from the perspective of each character and place a picture that represents
that character or what they are feeling. You will have 2 separate entries.

Your journal entry should be:

 At least 10 sentences
 Written in 1st person
 Explain the events that surround your character and how they would be feeling
 Prediction- what will your character do next?

1. MAJOR-

Tomorrow, I’m going to look for that boy Alfred! Me and my gang need some extra change in our
pockets. If he doesn’t give us money… Its over for him. After all Alfred has done *shakes head*.
Getting that boy in jail and almost busting us! HE IS GOING TO PAY for the MESS he made.
Tomorrow at 9:20 am, were going to walk down that sidewalk and find him, were going to even try
going to his aunt’s house… Maybe we shouldn’t do that. No telling how crazy his aunt is. Alfred
has put us all in danger, he is such a mutt and a downright horrible person. YOU KNOW WHAT,
were just going to beat him up boys.

2. Aunt Pearl-

Oh, my goodness, where is that boy going today? Alfred you need to stay here with me more, you
know. Spend time with your favorite aunt! Alfred: -_- What? Why have you been so distant Alfred?
Why am I never seeing you much anymore? Why is it that you have all those bruises on you?
Alfred you can talk to me whenever you like okay? Anyway, I have some pie in the oven if you
want some. And could you go get me some oranges from that store of yours? *In head* I don’t
know what’s up with that boy.
