Electronic descaling is a physical treatment,

acting on the molecular structure of Calcium
Carbonate (CaCO3). By agitating the structure
with a current, it prevents the molecules from
bonding and forming a solid layer.

The water treatment is limited by 3 factors:

- Distance: the treatment is effective up to
1000 meters downside from the machine
- Time: the treatment is limited in time (3-4
days)
- Flow: there must be a flow of water.

In case the fixtures are not being used for a

long period of time, the limescale will revert
back to its original molecular structure and will
solidify again.
Conclusions & suggestions
• During ”empty” periods, special measures should be taken to run the treated water through the
whole piping network.
• Identify some water outlets furthest away from the machine and open the taps for several minutes
(10-15min) every day. This will force water to move through the piping network.
• If possible, running the taps and showers every other day will be very effective (but difficult to do
for every villa if tenants are not here).
• Water fixtures in empty villas may be completely clogged and may require manual cleaning (vinegar
bath) in extreme cases.
• You can give recommendations or provide assistance to the tenants on the cleaning procedure of
their fixtures, when they are back.
