System Overview
System Purposes

This system is an equipment that captures images by transmitting X-ray to a patient's body.
The X-ray passing through a patient's body is sent to the detector and then converted
into electrical signals. This signals go through the process of amplification and digital data
conversion in the signal process device before being sent to the XGEO Station (Operation
Software) and saved in DICOM file, a standard for medical imaging. The captured images are
sent to the Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) server, and can be used for
reading images.
The XGEO GC80 system is intended to be used for capturing digital X-ray images of various
parts of the body including the head, chest, spine, abdomen, joints, hands, feet and other
organs. Note that its intended use does not include mammography.

The system must be correctly installed in an examination room so that it can support all of
the following methods of diagnosis:

• Capturing on the table

• Angled capturing on the table (The portable detector is positioned above the table so
that it can be placed directly onto the patient.)
• Capturing in the standing position. (For chest imaging, there must be a distance of at
least 180 cm between the wall stand receptor and the X-ray tube.)
• Capturing on the portable detector

Under no circumstances should the X-ray technician be hampered by the system. The system
supports a patient height of up to 240 cm, and the maximum weight specified on the label
attached to the table board. A height of up to 240 cm and the maximum weight specified on
the label attached to the table board are supported.

You can view the captured digital images on the workstation monitor, and save them to an
external storage device (CDR, DVD, USB storage, etc.).

install or remove this grid.

•We recommend using the grid supplied by Samsung with your XGEO GC80 system. Grids are avail-
able in sizes of 100 cm and 180 cm. Always use the appropriate grid for the source to image detector
surface distance (SID).

•Insert the grid with the labeled surface facing the X-ray tube, and the Grid Install/Remove handle
facing yourself.

When replacing the grid, store the grid in the designated location. If the grid is left
unattended, it may be damaged by the patient which may cause a difference in the image
due to the grid ratio and result a higher probability of retaking the image. Retaking may
increase radiation on the patient.

≑≑ Automatic Centering

Lateral Support Bar

The P-bar (lateral support bar) is used for keeping the patient’s body in a straight position
when taking chest images of the patient against the wall stand. Use after attaching to the
upper of the wall stand receptor arm.

Figure 7-4. Lateral Support Bar

Be careful for the patient to not excessively pushing the support bar when the lateral
support bar is used. If the patient uses the support bar, ensure that the bar is supporting less
load than the maximum weight and that the bar is secured before use. If the bar supports
more weight than the maximum value or is not secured before use, the equipment may be
damaged or the patient may be injured.

Hanging the user's or patient's clothes on the lateral support bar will hamper the
examination, while an excessive weight loaded on the bar from hanging on and taking off
clothes or bags may cause damage to the equipment or injury to the patient.

Image Stitching Stand

The image stitching stand is used for image stitching.

Figure 7-5. Image Stitching Stand

When using the image stitching stand, install it by leaving a sufficient space for the receptor
and use it after securing wheels. If the space between the stand and the receptor is not
sufficient or the wheels are not secured, injury may result from damage or malfunction of the
equipment that may occur from a collision between the stand and the receptor.

*Note 2) At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the higher frequency range applies.
*Note 3) These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is
affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
a Field strengths from fixed transmitters, such as base stations for radio (cellular/cordless)
telephones and land mobile radios, amateur radio, AM and FM radio broadcast and TV
broadcast cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy. To assess the electromag-
netic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should
be considered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the EUT is used
exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the EUT should be observed to verify
normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be
necessary, such as re-orienting or relocating the EUT.

b Over the frequency range 150 kHz to 80 MHz, field strengths should be less than [V1] V / m.

Recommended Separation Distances Between Portable and Mobile RF Communica-

tions Equipment and the XGEO GC80 system.
The XGEO GC80 system is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in which
radiated RF disturbances are controlled. The user of the XGEO GC80 system can help pre-
vent electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum distance between portable
and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters) and the XGEO GC80 system as
recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the communications
equipment.
Rated maximum Separation distance (m) according to frequency of transmitter
output

1 1.17 1.17 2.33
10 3.70 3.70 7.37
100 11.70 11.70 23.30
For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended
separation distance (d) in meters (m) can be estimated using the equation applicable to
the frequency of the transmitter, where P is the maximum output power rating of the
transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer.
*Note 1: At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the separation distance for the higher frequency range
applies
*Note 2: These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is
affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects, and people.
