Schramm, Inc.
800 East Virginia Ave.
West Chester, PA. 19380 USA
1. This limited warranty applies only to the original user/customer and only to machines and equipment which
have been subjected to normal use and service.
2. This limited warranty is for a period of 12 months from initial operation or 2000 hours, whichever occurs first;
not to exceed 18 months from the date of shipment.
3. Schramm’s obligation under this limited warranty shall be solely to replace or repair without charge at the deal-
er’s location those component parts which Schramm itself manufactured, and only if such component parts
were defective when the machine or equipment was shipped from Schramm’s factory. Any component part
installed to replace a defective component part is warranted solely for the duration of the unexpired warranty on
the machine or equipment in which such a component part is installed.
4. This machine or equipment may incorporate many component parts manufactured by companies other than
Schramm, such as truck chassis, carriers, tracks, engines, tires, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors and other
component parts too numerous to list. This limited warranty does not apply to such component parts, but such
component parts may be warranted by the companies that manufactured them.
5. This limited warranty does not apply to regular maintenance replacement items, including but not limited to
V-belts, electrical bulbs, wiper blades, filters, lubricants, and batteries. This limited warranty does not apply to
normal maintenance service and adjustments, including, but not limited to fuel, air and hydraulic system
cleaning, engine tune-up, clutch inspection and adjustment.
6. It shall be the obligation of the user/customer to pay for transportation of this machine or equipment to the deal-
er providing warranty service and to pay for travel time or mileage if warranty service is provided at the job site.
7. Unless notified in writing by Schramm, Inc. all replacement parts must be returned to Schramm, Inc.,
transportation charges prepaid.
8. In order for this limited warranty to apply, this machine or equipment must be made available for repair during
the warranty period.
9. Schramm, Inc. shall not be liable for defects, damages or failures caused by unauthorized alterations, use of
non-approved parts, unreasonable use, neglect, abuse, accident, or negligent repair, including a failure to
provide reasonable and necessary maintenance after the new machine is in service.
10. Schramm, Inc. reserves the right to make design changes or any product improvements at any time, without
incurring any obligation to install same on units previously manufactured.
11. There are no warranties, expressed or implied, other than the limited warranty, as set forth above and this
limited warranty supersedes any warranty, promises or representations previously made or issued. THERE
ARE ABSOLUTELY NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR OF FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE and Schramm hereby excludes all such warranties which might otherwise be implied
by law.
12. Schramm’s liability for breach of this limited warranty, whether a claim or lawsuit is brought in contract, tort or
strict liability, shall be limited exclusively to repair or replacement of defective parts manufactured by Schramm.
Schramm shall not be liable for any direct or indirect incidental or consequential damages of any kind which
may result from defects in its products or from breach of this limited warranty nor shall Schramm be liable for
any damages resulting from a user/customer’s loss of any use of this Schramm machine or equipment.

03/14/12 Rig Specification J130-0338: BRUCE1018 Version Dat Boart Longyear S.A.C.
Unit Engine - Electronically fuel injected, 90 degree vee, twelve cylinder, twin
turbocharged, aftercooled, 4-cycle, water cooled diesel engine provides
power to the hydraulic pumps from the front crankshaft flange and the air
compressor from the flywheel end.
Hydraulic System - Nine hydraulic pumps, four fixed displacement type and
five variable volume piston type, provide hydraulic power for all rig functions.
System design is 100% open loop with directional control valves and full
return line filtration. In-tank return filters share common replaceable
elements. Suction lines are fitted with magnetic strainers. The system
temperature is thermostatically controlled utilizing an oil cooler. The rotation
and rapid feed piston pump and valves are of the load sensing type,
matching pump flow to demand. All hydraulic circuits are protected by relief
valves. A hand pump is provided to fill the tank through the filters. Shutoff
valves are provided at each tank suction outlet for ease of service.
Hydraulic Pump Drive - A four pad, constant mesh, spur gear, hydraulic
pump drive is connected to the front of the engine crankshaft with a coupling.
Mast Tilt - The two mast tilt cylinders are cushioned to reduce the shock
loads imposed on the mast pivot support when raising and lowering the
mast. The control valve in its fully shifted position will raise the mast quickly
through approx. 85°, and slowly through the last 5°.
(2) 6" Bore x 3-1/2" Rod x 37" Stroke (127 mm x 63.5 mm x 940 mm)
Control Panel - Located on the left hand side, the swing-out style control
panel stores under the mast for transport and includes full instrumentation
and fold-up operator's and helper's platforms. The control panel has hinged,
lockable doors for access to the hoses, valves, etc. Gauges include: engine
water temp, engine oil pressure, voltmeter, compressor discharge temp, air
pressure, interstage pressure, tach/hourmeter, rotation pressure, holdback
pressure, downfeed pressure, water injection and lubricator pressure.
Emergency engine stop buttons are located on the control panel as well as
forward on the rig deck. A valve section is included for operation of a
customer supplied BOP. Digital display on driller's control panel includes
tachometer, oil pressure, oil temperature, water temperature and voltmeter
with separate hourmeter.
Tool Box - A lockable tool box is located on the right hand side of the rig.
Capacity - 9 cu ft (.25 cu m)
Electrical System - The diesel driven alternator and batteries provide 24V DC
power. All exposed wiring is in "sealtite" conduit where applicable. All
circuits are protected by breakers. A remote mounted deck engine battery
disconnect switch is included.
Accessories - Includes two sets operator's and parts manuals and 50 hour
maintenance kit.
Feed System - The top head is raised and lowered by hydraulic traverse
cylinders through special wire rope and large diameter Nylatron sheaves. As
the top head is raised, the inner mast section extends by a ratio of 1:2 until it
reaches its fully extended position at 50’ of clear head travel.
Working Diameter At Mast Base: 40" above table (w/loader) 48" diameter
below the table
Working Height Below Table: Adjustable to 54" with wheels on the ground.
Outriggers can increase clearance by an additional 41".
A full length sub base that supports the rig and mast feet is required for slant
hole operations. A complete subbase or approved drawings are available.
Special pins are mounted to the top head trunnion mounting bars which allow
the use of elevator links for lifting heavy strings of casing with the hoist
system.
Casing Lifting Eye Clearance: 50' 6" (15.4 m) from eye to table
Supplied loose, the 4" discharge plumbing is provided for reverse circulation
applications. Includes 4" discharge manifold mounted on the tophead
swivel. This manifold is routed through the tophead pivot bearing on the RH
side of the rig. 4" RC hose connects the discharge manifold to the 4" mast
mounted stand pipe. The bottom of the 4" stand pipe terminates in a flange
for connection to the customer supplied plumbing. The stand pipe is receiver
mounted to allow a quick change-out from 4" to 6" discharge plumbing.
Rotation Lock-Out
A rotation Lock-Out Switch is provided to isolate the rotation system without
affecting other rig functions. The switch is control panel mounted and is
protected by a lockable cover with pad lock to prevent inadvertent operation
of the main and auxiliary rotation systems.
Four Mtrs, 20/40 cu in
All hydraulic through four disc valve, two speed, high torque Char-Lynn
10,000 Series, geroler motors
Schramm Air-Control
The Air-Control System also senses the deck engine systems to provide
horsepower limiting capability. If momentary hydraulic power requirements
are high, the Air-Control system will vary the output volume to avoid a
situation where HP demand exceeds the available engine horsepower.
Auxiliary Air Supply
Includes reservoir, quick connects and valves used in conjunction with the
standard Bendix compressor for powering casing slips when setting casing
while drilling compressor(s) are not running.
Tool Lubricator, Piston Pump
An air operated piston pump provides "rock drill" oil for DTH operations.
Lubricator is activated and controlled from the operators station.
The outrigger system uses heavy square section structural tubes which
completely house the hydraulic cylinders. The front outrigger is mounted on
the carrier frame. Rear outriggers are an integral members of the drill rig
frame. Dual lock check valves and velocity fuses hold the outriggers in both
load holding and transport positions. All outriggers are independently
positioned.
Front Outrigger: (1) 5" Bore x 3-1/4" Rod x 41" Stroke (127 mm x 82.5 mm x
1,041 mm)
Rear Outrigger: (2) 5" Bore x 3-1/4" Rod x 41" Stroke (127 mm x 82.5 mm x
1,041 mm)
Green Rotating Beacon
12V power with magnetic mount for installation on top of truck cab. Power to
on/off switch as long at the ignition switch is in the "run" position.
Jib Boom, Hydr (Exploration)
Jib boom features include, 140° swing. For handling drill pipe on angles up
to 45° from vertical an extended dipper stick is mounted to a swing and
extend hydraulic jib boom. The winch line is reaved through a snatch block
to increase load line flexibility. This permits the winch line to be centered
over the borehole and reduces sheave wear when pulling from unusual
angles.
Swings: 140°
Extends: 40" (1,016 mm)
Extended Capacity: 1,000 lb (454 kg) vertical pull
Floating Sub, High Cap
Schramm, Inc. floating subs are designed to extend the life of threads by
removing feed cylinder and pipe weight forces from threads while making and
breaking tool joints. Spline construction permits free float of 4" (102 mm).
has 3-1/2" (89 mm) water course, 5 1/2 IF pin x 4 API IF box. Use with high
capacity top head.
LoadSafe Handler Hyd Supply
Separate hydraulic pump and controls plumbed to outlet ports with twin quick
connect fittings are mounted to provide hydraulic oil supply for the LoadSafe
Automated Pipe Handler. Must use KIT if loader is sold separate from the rig.
