Low Temperature Bending Test 1. Scope ‘This Annex specifies low temperature bending test. 2, Test Piece ‘Two or more rectangular test pieces, 6.3 mm wide, 114 mm long and 2 +0.25 mm thick, shall be taken from the plate which have been manufactured under the same conditions as the products. 3. Test Equipment The test equipment shall provide two parallel plates A and B, each 50 mm or more wide, and shall be capable of changing the distance between A and B at least from 60 mm to 25 mm by moving A while fixing B, as shown in Annex Fig. e Annex Fig. 1 Unit: mm 4. Test Provedure Grip both ends of the test pieces by 6 mm or more length with the clamps, as shown in Annex Fig. 2, attach the test pieces to the parallel plates so as to be bent, and to keep the test pieces at 3 mm or more distance with each other, and’ make the distance of the plates to be 60 mm. Leave this test equipment in a low temperature tank cooled with air or air mixed with carbon dioxide to ~30 to -35°C, for 5h, and change the distance between the parallel plates up to 25 mm as quickly as possible, to bend the test piece, and examine the conditions.
