1. C. Corporate. Because it answers the foundational question of what the


company wants to achieve, whether it would be growth, stability or retrenchment.

2. Agree. HP uses intensive growth strategy, wherein the firm grows by expanding
its product line or its market reach in which is pretty evident in the course of
action taken by HP.

3. Product Development. It involves substantial modification of existing products


or creation of new but related products. It is based on penetrating existing market
by incorporating product modifications into existing items or developing new
products connected to existing ones.

4. C. The Corporate Strategy. The company had a clear goal in mind in which was
to boost its’ revenue and improve the company’s stability, growth and profitability.
This goal are basically strategic goals that can be encountered at this level like
expanding sources of revenue, build customers’ trust, use technology to improve
efficiency, provide training to staff and the likes. At this level, it is not only about
considering how to gain a competitive advantage but also which businesses they
should be in in the first place.

“If you do not know where you’re going, any road will take you there”

The passage basically means that by not having a direction, goal, destination or not
knowing where you’re going, you will never arrive anywhere. If you don’t know where
you’re going for dinner, any road will take you there. If you don’t know what you want to
be when you grow up, any road will get you there. It’s practically impossible to know
everything beforehand, but if we wait until we have all the information we needed, life
will pass by. In the meantime, do other things, ask some questions, gain some
experience, then make a decision, then act on it. The saying tries to admonish that
people should have a clear goal or destination but it also keeps the pleasure of
aimlessness.
