Sample 1 Hardener and Epoxy Material Test Report
Title:
Cast resin of epoxy and hardener in dielectric test
Objectives: To identify the cast resin of epoxy and hardener in dielectric test after water
immersion.
Hypothesis: Cast resin of epoxy and hardener to carry out dielectric test remain unchanged after
water immersion.
3) 1 x plastics pail
4) 1 x MAKTEC handle mixer stirrer
Technical Airing Cast Resin Mixture Condition:
Information: Temperature: 27 Celsius
Duration: 72 hours
Water Immersion Condition:
(a) Temperature: 20 Celsius
Duration: 30 minutes
(b) Temperature: 20 Celsius
Duration: 12 days
Methodology: 1) Prepare material and tools cast resin mold, plastics pail, handle mixer stirrer,
epoxy, hardener and silica.
2) To prepare 1200 grams silica.
3) To pour epoxy and hardener mix together in plastics pail before start handle
mixer stirrer.
4) To stir epoxy and hardener and pour silica within two minutes, then stir equally
for next five minutes.
5) Pour the mixture to the cast resin mold after stir process.
6) To airing the mixture for three days in the cast resin mold.
7) Sample A carry out dielectric test and record current value (mA) before water
immersion.
8) To immerse sample A to the one-meter depth water for thirty minutes.
9) To wipe sample A run dielectric test and record current value (mA) after water
immersion
10) Sample A immerse to the water for 12 days and record current value (mA)
through dielectric test after water immersion
11) The dielectric test is 3.5kV and 15 seconds

One milliliter equal to one gram, one milliliter equal to one cubic centimeter (cc), one
cubic centimeter (cc) equal to one thousand cubic millimeter. The need of cast resin
mixture mass can calculate from the design size.
Conclusions: Based on the dielectric test conducted, Sample 1 of epoxy and hardener has minor
change on the dielectric test (mA) when before and after water immersion.
The water immersion can take up to one week for further study. Moreover, next phase
Recommendation
of testing will be taking the fire/ heat resistance test as well as anti-corrosion test
