Materials

No new materials have been added or removed from this week’s progress update. For

more information on how our UAV will be constructed, please refer to last week’s progress

report, or our Supply Order Form which can also be found on our website. Materials already

used include such needs for structural, mechanical, electrical, and development purposes.

Methods

No new methods have been changed from this week’s progress update, as our

development and drone-operating steps have remained the same. For more information on how

our UAV will be operated, please refer to last week’s progress report. Common methods used for

our project include such for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the UAV, as these

steps are a part of how we intend to utilize our final build for testing phases in the future.

Data and Results

As of this week, we have no new proof of experimental data. Our main focus from the

last two weeks was organization for our building phase of our final project. Our team had been

chosen by the state competition to compete in the National level RWDC competition, so another

future goal of ours is to revise our team Engineering Notebook for the National level

competition. This notebook should be submitted by late April 2021, and we will be using the

feedback from our State competition score sheets to revise our current notebook. As for our

project’s building phase we have gathered all necessary materials to build our drone, and our

team will begin construction as early as Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Concept Sketch

Above was our team's first concept sketch of a Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV) for

our project. Each unique part of the sketch has been thoroughly labeled, such as the structural,

mechanical, and payload components. This is not our final sketch, but it was used to find design

flaws from our development stages. Since then, we’ve been able to conceptualize newer variants

of the same concepts, which can be viewed in our team’s Engineering Notebook.
