TRAINING ON PROCESS PIPING

DESCRIPTION
 The course uses a combination of interactive discussions, presentations and exercises. This
training will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to make judgement in the
operation, inspection and maintenance of piping. The design (Codes/Act) knowledge gained in
this training will boost the confidence when modifications are to be carried out.
 As a broad overview, the benefits that will be gained in this training are;
 Understanding plant piping specification.
 Basic calculation and selection methods.
 Understanding requirements for new piping system.
 Designing your own piping for new/modified application.

The content of this course is technical. The presentation has been prepared in such a manner that
personnel with some basic technical and/or field experience will be able to gain necessary benefit.

SPEAKER
Ir Tharmaseelan Thanabalasingam graduated
with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
from University Malaya and is a qualified
professional engineer registered with Board
of Engineers Malaysia. He is also a certified
1st Grade Steam Engineer and a certified
trainer with Human Resource Development
Fund, Malaysia. He has been providing
consultancy, project management and field
services focusing in petrochemical and power
generation sectors while managing technical
and contractual matters for large scale multi-
discipline, green field as well as revamp
projects.
With his extensive experience in the field for
approximately 30 years, Tharmaseelan who
has been working with service providers such
as Petronas, Huntsman-Tioxide, MTBE, UBF,
TNB and Shell, is also an expert in design,
inspection and maintenance of steam boilers,
pressure vessels and piping, and mechanical
integrity of pressure containment systems.
He has also been actively providing industry
trainings in boiler and piping systems.
Additionally, Tharmaseelan is an avid
windsurfer and sailing enthusiast.
