1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Scope of Work

• The method statement describes the methodology for cutting steel rail for the

transformers, and to ensure that all concerned persons are familiar with the sequence

of activities, utilization of resources and execution of the works in compliance with

applicable safety and quality procedures, project documents and specification.

2. CREW & EQUIPMENTS

2.1 Personnel
• See Attached organization chart. (Appendix A)
2.2 Equipments
• Grinder
• Steel angle
2.3 Safety Regulations
2.3.1 Personal Protective Equipments (PPE)
• PPE to be worn (Safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear and helmet).
2.4.2 House Keeping

• Tool Box Talk meeting will be conducted prior start the work.
2.4.3 Equipment Control

• All equipment to be in good condition and inspected by safety supervisor.

3. DEFINITION O F PROCESS
3.1 Quality Requirements

• The works shall be performed as mentioned in this procedure and the quality assurance
requirements shall be consistent with the relevant sections of Quality System Procedure
Manual of the contractor as well with the Project Quality Plan.
• Work shall not proceed without formal approval by the Engineer.

3.2 Application

• Start Mark the area that need to be cut of the rail (15 cm) from the end.
• Marked Area should be as minimum as it can to be easier to cut
• Mark the part in 3 ways each one = 5 cm.
• Prepare the grinder to Cut the first part.
• Cut the first part till the end and do the same steps for the other parts.
• Start cut the welding flange and remove the weld.
• Finish the steel plate that embedded in the concrete and restore it to its original shape.
