Recruitment Notice & Application Form

1. Exhibition Name: The Light of Life--The 3rd International Children’s Art & Science Exhibition

2. Exhibition Time: September 20th– November 30th, 2020

3. Exhibition Background: Shanghai is the bridgehead for “ the Belt and Road”. This is a new requirement

made by President Xi Jinping on Shanghai from a global perspective. In order to fully implement the central

government’s requirements for Shanghai to transform into a science and technology innovation center with

global influence, accelerate the construction of the international cultural metropolis, build Changning as an

innovation-driven international boutique city, and create influential science popularization cultural brand

activities at home and abroad, Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Changning District Science and

Technology Committee plan to organize related units to hold “ The Third International Youth Art and Science

Exhibition” during the Science Population Day in 2020.

4. Exhibition Theme: In order to promote the youth’s exploration of scientific knowledge, cultivate their

artistic innovation ability, this exhibition plans to use “The Light of Life” as the exhibition theme. By thematic

exhibition areas such as plants, animals, and microorganisms and the form of the combination of the art and

the popularization of science, the exhibition will show you the charismatic pictures of art in the hearts of the

children and adolescents from countries along the “Belt and Road” and will present the secrets of life, diversity

of species and the magic of nature to the public step by step, leading the public to experience the light of life

face by face, to comprehend the charm of life and to realize the meaning of life.

5. Participants: All the teenagers under 18 around the world who are committed to advocating world peace
and are willing to facilitate the art and cultural exchange among the countries.

6. Exhibits:

1. Invigorating Flora

Works of art and science will be displayed to show the livelihood of trees, grass and flowers. The works

made by children and adolescents from countries along the “Belt and Road” will present to viewers the

variety of scientific knowledge and artistic attractiveness.

2. Living Faunas

Scene of fish and shrimps swimming, chimpanzees and wolves howling, warblers and swallows singing and

lion and tiger roaring will be shown to the audiences. These works by children and adolescents from

countries along the “Belt and Road” will inspire viewers’ curiosity and creativity to explore the world of

animals.

3. Changing Microbes

This section displays works of art and science made by children and adolescents from countries along the

“Belt and Road” to showcase their understanding of the fungi, bacteria, viruses and other microbes.

7. Requirements on the work: All forms of work are accepted, including artifacts, models, 3D Printing,

sculpture, specimen, digital, mosaic, device, creative painting, photography, AI, etc. Large scale artistic and

science device made by a team are encouraged.

8. Requirements on decoration and packaging: All works submitted are supposed to be decorated and

properly packaged by creators.

9. Deadline of application:Before 17:00, September10th, 2020

10. Email address: a-ee@vip.sina.com; the title of the email should be “The 3rd Science Exhibition +

Organization / School + Name” (Non-standard email will be invalid.)

11. Selection and delivery of exhibits: If the works pass the first round of selection, the Organizing

Committee will officially inform the artists to deliver their exhibits before 17:00, September 12 th,2020. The

selected exhibits should be delivered to the appointed address before 17:00, September 15 th,2020. Those who

don’t pass the first review will not be informed.

12. Official delivery address: Shanghai Art Collection Museum (No. 1731, West Yan’an Road, Changning

District, Shanghai, inside of Tianshan Park)

13. Note: The selected works will NOT be returned after the exhibition and will be used for public welfare

and printing of the catalog. If the artists request for returning the artworks, the related costs will be covered by

themselves.
