New School Year, New Hair-do

Neat and well-groomed students are a trademark of Orani National High School – Main.
In its continuous effort to uphold this good image, the school opted to include “Libreng Gupit
Program” in its Brigrada Eskwela program of activities.

The Libreng Gupit Program was aimed towards giving free hair-cut for enrolling male
students, especially those who can’t afford regular hair-cut fee. Students who also have
“improper hair-do” was suggested to undergo the program.

The activity was made possible through the collaboration of the school and external
stakeholders. The ones who responded, in particular, were from Ocampo’s Barbershop. The
barbers offered their free services for a whole day in the campus.

This program was proven to be successful as there were lots of students who were
catered by the free hair-cut. It received positive feedback for both students and parents. Not
only did students get their hair done without fear of being reprimanded on the first day of
school, but it is also a great help for parents who are on tight budget.

The teachers and administrators are also delighted that the activity was implemented.
They will have less students who need proper haircut come the beginning of the school year.
This has been an issue among students who want to have their own hair-style which at times go
against the school code and manual.

As the Libreng Gupit gained support and positive responses from the different
stakeholders, the program is set to be repeated in the future Brigada Eskwela in the school.
