SESSION GUIDE 2:
Organizational – School Level
Duration of 210 Minutes
Session
 In view of request for clarifications as to the implementation of

advisorships and/or special assignments for the entire
school year combined shall be considered as one (1)
teaching load;
 The time interval between actual classroom teaching
shall be counted as part of the two (2) hours spent for
teaching-related activities except lunch breaks and
recess periods;
 Teachers who have rendered the six (6) hours of
actual classroom teaching duly reflected in their daily
time cards shall be deemed to have completed the
required daily working hours.
 The different school’s coordinatorships are the following but
are not limited to:
 Academic Department Coordinators
 L&D Coordinator
 School Library
 M&E
 LRMDS
 ICT
 Gulayan sa Paaralan
 Adopt-A-School Program
 Girl Scout
 Boy Scout
 Property Custodian
 GAD
 The prime role of coordinators/department heads is to provide
strong leadership. They are required to lead, manage, and
develop the department/program to ensure it achieves the
highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities.
Specifically, the role will include:

 Responsibility for Research
 Knowledge Transfer
 People Management
 Financial Management

 Development of Academic Research and Standing
 The organization of classes and giving of teaching loads
should be based on DO 21, S. 2006 – Guidelines for the
Organization of Classes and DO 39, s. 1990 – Deployment
and Assignment of Public School Teachers Amended by DO
50, s. 1994 – Guidelines for Teaching Assignments in the
Intermediate Grades.
 The school head will assign advisers and coordinators based
in DepEd Policy and Guidelines.
 Collaboration of teachers will ensure positive relationships
and a safe, nurturing environment which is essential for
students to attain success and fulfilment.
Learning  Discuss DO 16, s. 2009 – Addendum to DepEd Memorandum
Objectives No. 291, s. 2008 (Guideline for the Implementation of CSC
Resolution No. 08006 on Working Hours for Public School
Teachers)
 Identify the different school’s coordinatorships based on
DepEd Policies.
 Explain the roles and responsibilities of the advisers and
coordinators.
 Organize the number of classes and teacher-subject loading
for the upcoming school year.
 Assign advisories, coordinatorships, and chairmanships.
 Appreciate the value of organization and unity in the school to
provide quality education.

2. Each Group will be given a task card.

3. The task card will have the following questions:


a. How many teaching and non-teaching personnel in your
school?
b. How many are your expected students for the school year
2018-2019 based on your Early Registration Form?
c. How many are your proposed classes in each grade level?
d. List down the different programs and organizations in your
school with their corresponding coordinators.
e. What are the roles and responsibilities of each coordinator and
adviser?
f. Why is it important to have an organized class schedule,
teaching loads and list of coordinatorships/chairmanships in your
school?
