Aesthetica Film Festival

Aesthetica short film festival takes place in York and is one of the UK’s largest film events. The
BAFTA-Qualifying festival has 15 competitive categories alongside a non-competitive showcase, with
the official selection containing 300 shorts, features, VR, and immersive works. Alongside the festival
Aesthetica also organise other events such as masterclasses, panel discussions and pitching
opportunities with companies such as BBC Films and Film4. The festival itself is organised into 6
strands, which are then organised again by genre. The main focus of the festival is topics that hold
