The news about the 1.5 Billion Dollars Esports center has made a huge impact in the
Esports world community. The reason why it made an impact throughout the community
isn’t because of the amount of investment but the message China is sending to the rest
of the world. Esports is here to stay and is no longer about the sport but it’s about the
players. The idea of having such a facility is not for tourism or weekend tournaments,
the aim for a three-year project is beyond that. Initially, it is to expose China as the
Esports capital, but it’s also an invitation for investors to take interest in Chinese
organizations since as of 2023 will be on top after not only offering an arena for the
region but will also host offices for organizations to work and train in. In this new light,
Esports is now more needed than before. After the pandemic, video games have proved
their survival in an era full of lockdowns and safety precautions. Today, China is taking
the lead in offering all Chinese organizations a steppingstone ahead of other prominent
regions.
