ACTIVITY 2

1. If you are playing table tennis with your family or friends, what values and
benefits would you gain? In what way will you achieve these benefits or values?
Identify at least three benefits and values and cite an example.

- Many people play table tennis with many reasons, some reasons are because It is
entertaining, fun, fast and has great health benefits as well and easy to play.
Personally, I like sports that can be played both outdoor and indoor and I would say
that one indoor sport I enjoy playing is table tennis, aside from what I mentioned that
it is has a great health benefits, the following are the values and benefits I can gain
whenever I play table tennis with my friends or family.

First and for most, it helps me to develop my physical fitness. Specifically, my


muscular strength, since playing table tennis I often use my hands unlike other sports,
table tennis is easier on the joints; but like other sports, it will definitely work out my
leg, arm, and core muscle strength.

Second, my Mental ability can be enhanced since in table tennis I have to make a plan
strategies when and where to spin while trying to stay one step ahead of my oppent
and also I have to coordinate my hand and the movement of the hands so it is quite
challenging because I have to think carefully before I make a move.

Third, my social life will be more exciting because it gives me the opportunity to meet
new people or it can also be a reason for me to have a close bonds with the people
around me because I know this sport can be played by even a non-expert ones even an
older people can play this game that give me an extra opportunity not just to acquaint
myself with people my age but also those people who are younger or older than me.

2. What can you say about sports and sports participation?


-Although academic participation can be seen as an important aspect in the life of
student, the same way sports should be seen because sports are integral part of a
student’s growth and development. They help in the development of mental health
and physical fitness of the body. Through participation in sports and games, a student
like me can gains various skills, experience and confidence that are helpful for
developing our personality. We all human beings expect a healthy life because a
healthy life is a key to all happiness. It is only through physical and mental well-being
that we can aspire to a healthy life. One of the most effective ways to achieve physical
and mental well-being is sports undoubtedly. That’s Why Sports is Important in our
Life. Sports not only ensure a healthy life but also it has a versatile necessity in our
life in fact. Sports can make our lives full of satisfaction and success. It is an
important part of the curriculum.

3. What is the importance of physical activity participation during this pandemic?


Give at least 3 examples of physical activities that you perform during this pandemic.
- At this moment of pandemic where health has been at risk it is very important for us
to be extra conscious with our health status. Since in this pandemic we are restricted
By our government to be in a crowd we are asked to stay home which mean that many
of us are staying at home  and sitting down more than we usually do. It’s hard for a lot
of us to do the sort of exercise we normally do. It’s even harder for people who don’t
usually do a lot of physical exercise and this may affect dietary habits, leading to
higher calorie consumption that could promote weight gain and other possible risks
to our health that is why it there is a need for us to do a regular physical activity that
benefits both the body and mind. It can reduce high blood pressure, help manage
weight and reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and various
cancers - all conditions that can increase susceptibility to COVID-19. The Following
are the physical activities that I do during this pandemic.

 Jogging- Since I am living in a countryside, we have a backyard where I could


jog. I usually do it with my family but often with my sister. Jogging can improve
my cardiovascular health and can prevent obesity not only that but also it
strengthen the body’s response to illness, like respiratory tract infection and long-
tern illnesses like diabetes.
 Playing Badminton- It was part of our daily routine to play badminton even
before this pandemic so at this moment my parents bought another one for all of
us to play.
 Playing basketball- Perks of having many boys at home is that there are many
games I can play, if we get bored playing badminton we go with basketball which
is quite challenging for me because I am not good at it.
