1.0 Background of the Study

Fashion is an aesthetic expression of a specific time especially in clothing, footwear,

lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle and body proportions or manners of behavior.
Fashion is the latest fashion, the latest difference. Whereas, a trend often connotes a very
specific aesthetic expression, and often lasting shorter than a season, fashion is a distinctive
and industry-supported expression traditionally tied to the fashion season and collections.

Brand Center serves as a source of inspiration for everyone and simplifies everyone’s
jobs by making it easier and faster to take charge of documents. This houses multiple brands
that will co-exist for a wide variety of fashion trends in the time.

Hennes & Mauritz (H&M), is a Swedish clothing company. H&M is one of the biggest
fashion brand, having more than 4420 stores in 28 different countries around the world
including Philippines. The fashion company is known for offering latest style, inspiration and
quality fashion for all at the best prices in the market. Customers will find everything from
fashion pieces and unique designer collaborations to affordable wardrobe essentials,
complete-the-look accessories and motivational workout wear.

The company was originated in Västerås, Sweden, in 1947 by Erling Persson. At

first, the company only sold women's clothing. At that time, it was called Hennes, Swedish for
"hers." In 1968, Persson got the building and inventory of a Stockholm hunting equipment
store named Mauritz Widforss. A supply of men's clothing was part of the inventory. This
caused Persson to decide to also sell men's clothing. He renamed the store Hennes &
Mauritz, later shortened to H&M.

This fashion brand center aims start and create a fast-growing fashion trend in the
country so that the country will start to be the face of the major fashion contributors in South
East Asia. Many factors of the Filipinos are that they are fashionistas and passionate about
the ongoing trend of style. This project will boost local morale in fashion within the country
and give employment opportunities and attract tourist, both local and foreign. This can be
achieved by designing a complex and unique fashion brand center that will house multiple
famous and emerging fashion brands that will bring unique fashion trends around the world.
