Attainment Target:  Examine diversity and commonality in the Caribbean;
 Identify and explain the way/s in which racial admixtures have impacted
on Caribbean social and cultural forms.
Theme: Week 7: Module 1: - Identity and Social Formation
Duration: Two week
Topic: Cultural diversity, Social Stratification, Creolisation & Hybridization
Objectives: Students should be able to:

a. Define & explain Cultural Diversity - Positive and Negative effects.


b. Explain Social Stratification - Plantation Society and its impact on
Caribbean Social Stratification.
c. Describe Creolisation and Hybridization:
 Process of Cultural change in the Caribbean;
 Racial admixture and colour in the Caribbean;
 Cultural erasure, retention and renewal in the Caribbean.
