Family time is so important. During Thanksgiving, we enjoyed time with nine

of our fourteen grandchildren, and their parents, too.

Us too. We are praying for you during the holidays.

Maybe like me, you too have been disappointed in 2020. It helps
to pull back to try to figure out why we feel this way. During a
recent quiet time, in a quiet whisper, God gently spoke to me,
“Sheryl, expect to receive from me, not people. You cannot control
circumstances or people; this frustration will always disappoint
you. I never will. I Am everything you need.”
“He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive
him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his
name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:11-12
No more looking back with regret, may we choose to move
forward with resolve. I am learning that trusting God is the only
way I can increase my anticipation of receiving His best. We can
choose to embrace God’s love for us and believe He is committed
to our growth and proud of us. He is faithful.
Isaiah 43:18 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the
past, see, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not
perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the
wasteland.”

Love you,
My expectations now keep me focused with determination. I
am expecting and excitedly anticipating increased renewal from Sheryl
God. I am learning to thank God for every disappointment – and
when I choose this reaction, my disappointment becomes His
