The following Annual Admission Notice has been prepared by the board of Thomond Community College in
respect of the admission of students to the school for the school year 2021/2022.
This notice was published on 01/10/2020.
Note: Prior to the commencement of section 62 of the Education Act 1998-2018, the school had allocated a
number of places in the 2021/2022 First Year Group and the Special Class. The figures below capture this.

Note: The figures set out below in relation to the Special Class are subject to change dependent on whether
current students in the Special Classes retain their place in the school and whether a student(s) transfers into the
school after the publication of this Notice.

All applications to the First Year Group or the Special Class in Thomond Community College will only be
accepted after the 19/10/2020 and the closing date for receipt of applications is 12:30pm on 11/01/2021.
Applications received after this date will be considered and processed as late applications in accordance with
the school’s Admission Policy.
All transfer applications to the Special Class, First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth Year or Sixth Year Group in
Thomond Community College will only be accepted after the 26/04/2021 and the closing date for receipt of
applications is the 10/06/2021. Applications received after this date will be considered and processed as late
applications in accordance with the school’s Admission Policy.

Note: Failure to accept an offer of admission before the relevant deadline set out above may result in the offer
being withdrawn.

* On 7th January 2021, a meeting of Principals and Deputy Principals was convened virtually
through the Limerick Education Centre. At this meeting the dates for offers, refusals, confirmation
of acceptance and a Common Registration week were amended as above in light of the
unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic and level 5 restrictions.
