Because resources were just enough at times, our lifestyle as a family was just plain and simple. As a result, I couldn’t buy the things that I wanted. In school, I felt very envious of others. So when I am in school, seeing y well off classmates with their beautiful new shoes or bag, slowly made me jealous of them. Discussion Topic: Look Up and Be Grateful This has been my favorite vice when I was growing up. I always felt discontented or resentful, longing for someone else’s possession. It became a struggle for me because I started growing the habit of longing for things I don’t even need. It came to a point that I forgot to be grateful for what I have because I am too focused on what I don’t have. Discussion Topic: Look Up and Be Grateful Jesus always reminds us to be grateful and generous in whatever we have. We are not rich by what we possess but by what we can do without. The miracle of the loaves and fish – feeding the multitude – happened not through the abundance but through the willingness of somebody to be emptied for the sake of others.
