The Philippines’ Justice System

The criminal justice system is defined as the system or process in the community by
which crimes are investigated, and the persons suspected are taken into custody.
The Philippines is considered of having the lowest Justice system in the world, having
only a 30% conviction rate as compared to other countries. This percentage is the reason why
only 3 out of 10 are being convicted by these public prosecutors. And out of those 3, there is no
assurance that they will serve their sentence with the country's inefficient system paving the way
for criminals to keep returning to their illegal practices.
Furthermore, some cases under the Philippine justice system is flawed, whereas I
observed, only the privileged are getting much attention and services by the law enforcers
comparing to the people who don’t have the money to seek justice. For instance, in the cases
between the Gregorio Family and Christine Decora's, from both cases, the case of the Gregorio
Family is still in the process of seeking justice even though that there is evidence that the
Policeman killed both the mother and the son. Meanwhile, in Dacera’s Case, as soon as the news
became viral, the law enforcers did not hesitate to solve the case right away and finding suspects
and evidence which leads to the death of Christine Dacera. And after how many weeks, the case
has been solved and the Justice has been served to the Dacera family in a short amount of time
unlike in the Gregorio family’s case where the evidence is there but it’s taking forever. From this
dilemma alone, concludes that there is a difference between the privileged and non-privileged.
Because of this, the number of criminal cases would increase over time. The only solution
to this inefficient justice system of the Philippines is the law enforcers should fight and stand up
for the truth. Innocent people are being executed and taking the blame for the crime that they
didn’t commit and criminals are having the time of their lives outside doing illegal activities.
Justice delayed is Justice Denied. We need to seek the truth and open the eyes of our law
enforcers.
